Teenagers pulling pranks is nothing new. Ringing my doorbell just before setting off fireworks is probably a fourth of July thing. Setting them off on my porch leaving burnmarks all over it however is not funny anymore.

Anyone else have problems like that this last weekend? I was pretty upset, especially when I found that those burnmarks don't want to be removed easy.

If pressure treated wood, you will probably have to sand the spot.

Actually ... in my old neighborhood, it was never a 4th of July thing unless you really didn't like the person.

That can be very dangerous, especially with fireworks that can go 'boom'. Even those that are just fountains can create enough heat to start a fire on a porch or deck.

I would not laugh this off, and I would tell the neighbors about it. You may not catch the person that way, but you will send him a message about how it could have started a fire.

My daughter suspects some neighborhood teenagers she is not getting along with, unfortunately that can't be proven. I told her I would like to call the police on them, since they have done actual damage, it was not a little fountain firework, it left a lot of burnmarks on the white concrete. I will probably have to paint over it or something, it won't be scrubbed off. However, she doesn't know for sure ... of course not, and I would hate her getting into more arguments with those kids.

There are products you can use on concrete that should remove the stains. I would try white vinegar first. The acid in it may help.

You can also buy concrete repair kits at home depot and lowes. They are good for cracks and for also applying a thin layer over badly stained concrete. I believe I have even see concrete bleaching tools. Before trying either of those though I would try a presure washer. They can do wonders.
