    I am curious how many people actually read the HOA newsletter? And, do you ever contact any of the advertisers in there? My husband and I were talking about this yesterday, because I think it's great and that the HOA does a good job putting it together. He thinks that most people don't read it. So I'm curious!

    Always read it. Always check the calendar. Keep it all month. I just checked my mailbox for October's issue. Not there. {sigh}

    Of course the people here would read it. It's the folks who don't read the forums or the newsletter who are missing out...

    I always read it....but I've often wondered about the majority of people in Broadlands and whether they read it as I see in my daily walks yard waste out for recyling day on Sun. and the trash out as well a day before trash pickup.

    I think the next issue should have in big bold print on the front page.
    PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG!
    and maybe something about: yeah your dog is on a that cool retractable leash but please keep it off people's property.
    Stay on the side walk or on the street. My yard is not a toilet, and I do not enjoy doggies trampling my gardens. Really.

    (and dont give grief about rabbit pee and deer poop, I don't care. Those are not domesticated animals)

    I do not see this topic addressed very clearly in the newsletter.
    Sometimes I think it needs to be bold front page news every month.

    Either our fellow dog owning B-landers dont get it, or they have a short memory or need some assistance in learning common courtesy.

    I'm done.

    I agree with you totally. Actually - those retractable leashes IMO should be taken off the market. People with large dogs have NO business walking their dogs on these and I see it all the time. TWICE - our dog was lunged at by a woman walking not one, but two large dogs on these leashes and both times, these dogs came at ours and the first time actually knocked my husband down. This woman had absolutely NO control over her dogs and the lead on the leash was unacceptable. She acted like it was no big deal.

    I thought I heard or read somewhere that the Flexi (retractable) leashes are not considered legal.

    Don't dogs have to be controlled at all times in public and isn't 6 feet the maximum?

    Really??? Wow - has anyone else heard that? That would be helpful to know if true about those leashes. They're horrible!!! I often laugh because the people who use them don't realize that their dogs think they're the alpha and will think they can control them and the house. Dogs should either walk behind or right next to you, never ahead.
