Cliff - thanks for the invitation. I was trying to be very clear that my suggestion related to HOW things are presented in the newsletter and not WHETHER they should (I think the newsletter is and should be the primary source of communication to residents and I don't advocate additional mailings) and not WHAT was presented (I have no issue with the HOA dues increase).

Since I work pretty closely with the newsletter, I have a special interest in ensuring that the info it intends to convey is actually conveyed to residents. Maureen pointed out that Wes's letter mentioned the dues increase specifically, so I was planning to quit arguing about it. But as a busy homeowner, I still think a front page bullet point instead of a sentence several pages in, is the way to make sure people know about a dues increase.

I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill (if I haven't already) - but I did want to make sure my opinions weren't misconstrued as being a criticism of anything. I just thought since there were a couple of posts saying "I didn't know about this" - that I'd propose a way we could improve communication of the dues increase without incurring any additional costs.

By the way, thanks for your service on the Board, I appreciate the time and effort you and the others put in. If I had time for one more thing, I'd definitely participate more in some way.

    Thanks,
    Audrey

PS Golfnut we must have been typing at the same time. That's exactly what I meant.

Inability to get your point to the general audience is a flaw of the presenter, not the audience.

It's cuts like these is why no one has the welcome mat out for you here.

Flynnibus, you need to drop the attitude, especially when your "handle" carries the title of "forum administrator". You show to much emotion for that position. If you noticed on my post I thru the proverbial smiley next to my comment.

I don't know, AFGM, I thought the same thing when I saw your post. It struck me as kind of mean-spirited and off-topic. And I usually see the humor in your posts.

AFGM isn't an admin so isn't held to as high of standard as the rest of us. And I fully support AFGM's statement.

Oh Good Grief ... cut it out!!

Snide comments do not help, no matter who says them. SHEESH !! I tend to get comments thrown my way, I just make a joke out of it, and move on.

OK .. its over. MOVE ON !!

    Audrey and golfnut-
I got your point. Next year, the headline of the front page of the newsletter, in 3 inch bold black type will read: "Massive HOA dues increase coming!!!!!"
At least this way,I'll get more than 2 people to show up to the meeting!:)

I am a little confused here. The opening post states $70, yet I have a coupon book that shows $61. I also can not access the December newsletter online. What is the real deal?

Ours is $61 also. It must have to do with where you live. We are in a single family home in the "old" section of Broadlands.

If your new coupon book shows an amount, then that is the amount you will pay. However, to verify your account, logon to ArmstongConnect, and it will show you the current status of your account.

FWIW .. there are different rates, if you are in a TH, SFH, SFH on a private (HOA) street, etc. This is due to the different services provided, some areas get HOA snow removal, grass cutting, and so on.
