Ryan Park Center

Does anyone know what the delay is with the construction of the Giant and associated stores (like the Panera Bread Company) in front of Home Depot? The site plan (and I know this has probably not been updated in some time, but Madison Retail usually is pretty good about updating est dates on its site plans) show the Giant opening in Q2 of 2006 which is not going to happen.

Also, what kind of timeframe are they looking at for the Broadlands South Center to open?

 

Broadlands South Center is scheduled to open this fall.

 

I've not heard or read anything, of course, Giant's having its own internal issues (drop in sales, revenue, etc), so it may be delaying building anything new which causes the developer to have to change the start of buildings, etc, etc. What bothers me is that its holding up the opening of the Chipote.

The are starting construction on that site, I just can't tell what it is. It may be the office/retail portion because it looks like the buildings closest to the Greenway.

I am also disappointed about the Chipotle delay. I've was holding out hope that 2nd quarter 2006 was actually going to happen (as it says on the website). Herndon is almost too far to go for a delicious Carnitas burrito!

 

The retail part ajoining the giant is under construction as the block walls go up. The land along the greenway is being prepared for more retail and office above.

There's one in Countryside (Sterling) now.

 

I liked Chipotle a lot more before I found out that my Bol had 1000 calories! ACK!

 

3 bols a day means a solid 3,000 calorie diet. What's wrong with that!?

 

They have also started digging footers for the giant now, looks like they are going full steam.

Loudoun station is the project that is going at the speed of light considering how massive and tall it will be, they have already puts tons of underground utilities all the way to loudoun parkway.

If you go to the HOA home page and look under new construction in and around broadlands you will see all the different sites. there is an interactive map there that will take you to just about everything
