What pediatrician(s) in the area would you recommend? A friend recommended Ashburn Village Pediatrics, but then I've also heard that they have become so popular that it's hard to get an appointment, so I thought I'd query the board. We are expecting a little boy in August/September.

    Thanks in advance!

We love Ashburn Pediatrics in the buildings across from Giant. My kids see Dr. Pierce. I love the walk-in hour from 7:30 - 8:30 in the morning. We were expecting several years ago, they did a meet and greet with one of the pediatricians in the morning. Not sure if they are still doing those or not.

Ashburn Pediatrics here as well. You may want to search the topic I know it has come up before.

Ashburn Pediatrics is great, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone... we love it there and all the doctors have been wonderful to deal with. The separate well and sick reception is a great concept and I know they are accepting new patients, and for sure accepting newborns. I think they take most insurance too. We are personal friends with Dr Carol and highly recommend her as well.

We take our newborn daughter to Reston Pediatrics. We have been very satisfied with their overall view on how to run their office and the doctor that we've seen (Dr. Rodreguez) has been wonderful. They take time to talk about any questions you have. We've been very happy.

    Good Luck!

What about Whole Child Pediatrics in the Prof. Plaza across from Giant? Does anyone have any good/bad input? I made an appt. for my daughter there but we are new to the area and have never been before.

I have used Whole Child Pediatrics for almost 5 years now. Drs. Bunger and Chamberlain are excellent and I prefer them over Dr. Pasternak (who owns the practice) even though she is good as well. All of them are very thorough and I've had nothing but good experiences with the docs. The nursing staff is also pretty good - although they take a bit getting used to and are sometimes short because they are way to busy. Same goes for the front office - They have been mostly accommodating, however, as is the case with most medical offices, they can appear as if they do not want to be bothered at times.

Overall - I've been very happy. The docs have been exceptionally responsive to medical isssues and follow-thru. Dr. Bunger is extremely well liked by my kids. She has an excellent bedside manner and takes the time to explain things and Dr. Chamberlain really knows her stuff and she follows through more throughly than the others. Dr. Pasternak has had some health issues of her own and hasn't been around too much.

Good luck with them! I've had other pediatricians in the area - and none rank as high as these docs (in my opinion).

We love Whole Child Pediatric. Our daughter is 18 months old and she loves Dr. Chamberlin. I interviewed several area doctors prior to her birth and found them to be one of the best. They are great about getting you in right away during an emergency. When our child was very sick the doctor called us at home every couple hours to check up on her status. All the doctors are friendly and take extra time with you if needed no matter how busy they are.

They do not have a web site but their number is (703) 729-7652

check with them, as I think they will let you come by and meet some staff/doctors in the practice. Feel free to ask questions too and e-mail me...

The Doctor we use frequently is Dr Caroll, but they are all great.

Well, we just went to Whole Child Peds this week and saw Dr. Torres for my daughters 3 yr well check. She was great! She took her time to make my daughter feel at ease during the checkup and she also answered all my questions. I found out she is new to the practice, she only moved to the area recently. I have yet to interact with the other docs in the practice. Thanks to those of you who provided feedback..... it helps when you are new to the area like we are.
