On behalf of the Broadlands Technology Committee, I would like to thank everyone who came down to our last Flicks in the Sticks for 2006 on Saturday night. We had an incredible amount of people show up, which we estimated to be close to 200! We even ran out of popcorn and had to send out a team member to buy some extra bags of kernels.

When we planned the schedule for this summer, we decided to try a September showing as an 'experiment', fully expecting that with school having started and the cooler weather, attendance would be lower than usual. Boy, were we ever wrong! Many of you asked that we have more movies scheduled in the September/October timeframe, and we'll be taking a serious look at doing just that during our meetings to plan the next season.

In the meantime, we would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came down this season, especially the regulars (yes, we noticed you!). We'll be back next year!

    The Broadlands Technology Committee

We would like to hear feedback as well. Can it be run any better? One thing we're looking at next year is a floodlight or two for when the movie ends.

Another that I noticed this last day was seating. The lawn slowly tapers down as you move away from the screen, and I noticed pretty much a straight line of lawn chairs (mine included) to the left and right of the projector. Could those behind see the screen ok when on blankets?

Saturday night was the first time I brought my family to "Flicks in the Sticks" and we had a great time. We planned to go last month but it had been one of those 100+ days and no one was motivated to go sit out in the heat and humidity. Keep having the events in September and October and we will continue to come. Thanks for a fun evening.
