Question for the HOA folks -

How will trash pickup be affected by the sealcoating taking place on Thursday if your street is being blocked off? Will they still be picking up - do we need to move trash bins to the main street?

    Thanks

I have a question about sealcoating. I live in a completely isolated cul-de-sac AND the near by streets are being done at the same time. I have no idea where I am going to park my car. Claiborne? any suggestions?
Not being faceous (sp?) I truly am at a loss ... a whole lotta people are going to be trying to figure out the same thing at the same time.

Our street was sealcoated on Monday and the trash was picked up before they started (i *think* it was 8ish maybe).

Unfortunately, the trash service is not as reliable for our street. Sometimes it is early while other weeks it is past 10am.

My concern is because I "forgot" Monday's pickup and really, really need my trash taken Thursday!!!

Wes has given a list of the streets that are being done to New Vision with the specific instructions that they are to pick up trash on those streets imediately at 7am. When they did the streets Monday, before the paving crew came started they did several drive throughs 1 to see if any cars needed to be moved and then to make sure trash was picked up before they started and if it was'nt Wes called to get the trucks there before the road was started. I can assure you the same thing will happen on Thursday. Dominion paving and sealing has been great for the HOA to work with as they have tried to do as much as possible with the least amount of disruptions to the residents of those streets and that includes getting your trash picked up

Question: My street was just done today (Wed.) and we are not allowed to drive on it for 24 hrs. How will the trash be picked up on our street tomorrow (Thurs.) if the trucks can't come down the street? OR will it be cured by tomorrow am? Just want to know whether to put the trash out or not-thanks!

Your street will be cured by tommorow morning. The 1st thing they will do in the morning is go get all the cones and yellow tape down from the streets done today. Since the cones should be down by 7am on your street and the trash guys have to pick up from the streets being sealed tomorrow at 7am you should have no problem getting your trash picked up. So go ahead and put your trash out I just might keep it up on the curb rather then down on the street so that there is no chance of dragging that sticky mess into your garage

Any car that is not moved when they go to start the street will be towed out to the curb. There is no cost or anything it just needs to be moved so if you know anyone who forgot to move their car and now can't find it, it should be somewhere mixed in with all the other cars in your area.

With the weather calling for rain today I am not sure what they will or will not be getting done and I am not sure how that effects the people for tomorrow. However if there are any changes to the schedule the effected streets will be notified with new dates as soon as the HOA knows them

I have a concern for those people who were on vacation or away while working who might leave the car parked on the street. Maybe I missed someting. However, in the future, could there be more notice, e.g., street x will be treated in x month. If you are going to be away, do not park your car on the street.

looks like they did 2 coats today on Frame sq... looks nice.

which brings up another topic... I wish i took pictures of this, but on Center Post a sidewalk was replaced in several sections (they marked with orange X's).... one of the sections closest the Frame Sq was fine, no cracks, unevenness, etc, but they redid it anyways... like they were just padding their business. the other sections did need to be replaced, as there were raised portions of sidewalk, etc.

AND, of course someone had to walk in the wet cement and now we have footprints on our new sidewalks... ugh.

I'll have to agree with this. If you didn't read the newsletter or were out of town, the paper on the door the morning of was the only notice.

For the sake of clarity. The Newsletter arrived just before treatment of our area (Frame Square) but after it had begun in other areas. The arrival of the Flyer is unknown because a flyer was found in our bushes with an unknown arrival date.

The sealant was applied on Center Post, Frame Square, etc. Well done! Garbage was picked up. Well done! Striping was not done because of the rain I assume. Cones were placed in parking areas. Many of our neighbors parked in areas with cones anyway. This is sad. However, there was no communication about when the work would be completed. Even if weather made it impossible to know. I believe that this should have been communicated, especially since this was on a Friday of what might be a three day weekend (Columbus Day). For example, a flyer that noted please have all cars removed by Monday. Or, Please do not park your cars in parking areas so that striping might be completed on Satruday if there is no rain. I for one was unsure about whether work would be done on a weekend.

P.S. I did not park on the in those areas.

well thats why there was cones there.... that's the communication of 'not done yet'.

If you don't park there, no need to worry about when to move a car now is there?

I get "not done yet." I suggest that HOA and contractors continue to improve communication with residents.
