I am sure Clydes will have a few minor incidents but they train employees fairly extensively before an opening (a friend worked at Reston when it opened). As for shortage of food, I doubt it as Clydes is not a "mom and pop" type of restaurant like Del Rios. They are use to dealing with capacity and I am sure they are expecting overflow crowds when they open.

I talked with Sam @ Del Ray...we've known him for a few years b/c of Manhattan's...apparently the cook/chef walked out after a disagreement with the owners and other cooks a few days after Del Ray opened. This might explain the poor service over the past weekend and week.

Went to Orchid Thai last night. Very good! Had our appetizer within 10 minutes of seating and our entrees within 20.

Oh, the food was excellent too! :)

Puccio's is now open. Went there a while ago. Food was great. Place was packed (as was every other restaurant in the Safeway shopping center). It could use a larger dining area but is a great place to get a sandwich to go. Also has a nice breakfast menu that is relatively inexpensive.

Had dinner at Del Ray. Very personable service and the amount of food I got for $8.00 (3 tacos) was impressive. The carnitas tacos were great but the rice and beans were pretty bland. We will go again but won't rush there, probably alternate between here and Moe's for our fix.

Puccio's for lunch today......YUM!! They were very busy at 1:30ish when we went but it was worth waiting for. I had a Hambino and my husband had a Broadway. They can only take cash and checks for now - waiting on Verizon to be able to accept credit/debit cards.

Went to Del Rey tonight... Worst experience I've had in my life! It took 1 hour to get our meal and the food was terrible! Don't recommend it to anyone! The service wasn't bad but the kitchen staff and chef were terrible. Anyone have the same experience or was this just a bad night?

We also love Orchid Thai. We've been 4 times now. The service has been excellent every time. The food is wonderful. Give the drunken noodles or the pangang dishes a try.

Went to Del Rey's last night and it wasn't bad at all. It was very crowded and we were told a 20 minute wait at 7:00, we were seated at 7:15.
Our server took our orders within a few minutes and the food was brought out in a timely fashion. Also, based on the number of bustling servers, the lack of a wait staff appears to not be an issue any longer. They even had 2 bartenders.
The food was not the best mexican I have eaten but it was not bad at all. We will certainly go back again.

Puccios- had the Soho sub with Cajun Turkey instead of smoked- DELICIOUS. Fresh mozzerella and roasted peppers- how could you go wrong?!? Fast friendly service and a fresh toasted sub... plenty o' meat on the sub- Boar's Head to boot.
    they even deliver- woohoo!

Puccio's is definitely where it's at. I don't know if they really want me to tell everyone this, but they will make stuff that's not on the menu too (kid's grilled ham & cheese- my daughter's love it!).
    They are my fave!

Puccio's will have the phone lines hooked up by Monday, which means credit cards can be accepted and phone orders can be called in. We will start delivery the Monday after thanksgiving. Thanks for all the great comments and I apologize for the inconvenience due to Verizon's lack of service.

I'm adding another vote for Orchid Thai here. We've been 5 times and have had excellent service and food every time.

I'm going to add a thumbs down on the new IHOP. We had horrible service this weekend. We waited almost an hour for our food after being seated. People who came in after us had eaten and were leaving and we didn't even have drinks. It took forever for the manager to stop by. We did get our food for free but the food isn't good enough to warrant over 1.5 hours spent in that delightful atmosphere.

:mmm: I would not have waited for a 1 1/2 hours for breakfast. Ashburn Cafe in Ashburn Farm Shopping Center is good food and service. After all--your time is something--isn't it??

Also, Lansdowne Resort's restaurants have great breakfasts off the menu (a la carte) or breakfast buffets 7 days a week. During the week, Monday through Friday, Lansdowne offers a breakfast buffet for $11.95 (I believe).
Alot cheaper and quicker that waiting for mediocre food at IHOP. With quads (even by myself) we frequent Lansdowne's Riverside Hearth. Never had to wait that long--I eat there for an early breakfast (for quiet time) after I drop my quads off at school some times. Great food!!

We went to the Hop on what I think was their grand opening (Nov 4) and I expected the worst. It was a 25 minute wait and people were coming out complaining. Well, I guess I had some Karma stored up because we got our food in about 15 minutes and got out fairly quickly AND they got the order right. But, boy, did those waiters look like deer caught in the headlights. I like IHOP and I expect the service to get better as the staff gets more experienced. I felt sorry for them. No amount of training could have prepared them for the hordes of hungry (an cranky) Ashburnites.
