Anyone know any car radio installers in area? I just got one from Crutchfield thinking I could install it, but I can't even get the panel out and am at the point of using a hammer. : )

Can't help you with an installer in the area 'cuz I've always done it myself... Have you called crutchfield and asked for help? I've done that in the past when facing a similar situation... their techs have always been pretty helpful. The second option is to see if there is a forum or other user community on the 'net for your car -- always plenty of info there. Yeah you could pay someone to do it but they probably won't do as careful of a job if you did it (IMHO).

Thanks for the response...yep, called them, but he couldn't help me figure out how to get to the screw I need to remove...I've done searches and called Honda, but no luck as of yet, they told me Best Buy is the only one in the area...starting to search for isuzu now to see if that helps....

    Let me guess.... Honda Passport.

I once took apart the whole dashboard to get the stereo out of a civic. I'm sure honda did this on purpose.

    Hi Joe,

AV Sound Design in Herndon does audio installs.

    A V Sound Design
    (703) 478-3449

I've been to their store a few times but never used them for anything. They seem to know what they are doing and talking about. A family member has used them for install of a auto engine starter and that seems to have gone well.

They are in a little group of businesses near the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway and Spring Street. There is a Mom's Apple Pie shop in the same location.

"Can you get the NHL package on that new system?":)

BTW, another source is to go over to Circuit City and talk to the audio installers. I've walked right into the work shop and asked questions. They may be able to help you figure out if the install is something you can do yourself.

Sweet, I'll check them out, thanks! I tried calling Best Buy but no one answered, I'll probably just drive over there as well...

Actually, I might be able to get the NHL Package on there....lol....it's got a USB input, and I've got my slingbox working with my pocket pc now!!!

We can be thankful that Lansdowne was the guinea pig for Openband. They had major issues, especially on the telephone side. Giving homes duplicate numbers, shared lines, etc etc.

They fixed it, but it took a few years, so I've heard....

I recommend Kar Tunes in Sterling.

They have worked on all my exotics (an my wife's car).

They are also a Crutchfield installation center.

Why don't you just get XM? That's a lot of nonsense to get video in the car :(

Honestly, I just want my iPod to work, I doubt I'll hook up the pocket pc for the video....I refuse to pay for satellite for my car, waiting for it to be hackable, lol....we do have it for my wifes car though, but I'd rather make my own playlists...but the Boneyard is an awesome channel..
