My wife car is coming off 4 year maintenance warranty from BMW and looking for a local non-dealer to service this car going forward.

I ran into Funktion Auto on this forum and was wondering if any Broadland resident had any experience using them to service their car ?

    Thanks for any feedback.

I have not used Funktion, but have seen their add in the local BMW chapter magazine.

I have used Curry's Auto in the past and been happy with them. Prices are not cheap, but are competative. THey have provided me with good service. Had a minor accident and my tire blew out and damaged the wheel. They loaned me a wheel and tire while mine went out for repair.

Chris Coulter and crew know their BMW stuff.

Thanks for the information on Curry's Auto. I will try to schedule a minor scheduled service to see how it goes. Glad to see we have some options near our house.

Check out my thread CAR CONSUMER CORNER dated 10/30/06 about Circle Auto Service and Body Shop in Sterling, VA on Douglas Court. When husband cannot work on vehicles, I take cars and suvs to Circle Auto Service. Great work!!

Also--there are other car related web site information on the thread.

    Happy Hunting--

Curry's has certified BMW, Mercedes, and I think even Ferrari mechanics.

If you are a BMW club member there is a 5% discount (except on tire since the price is usually the best around)

Being a former Porsche owner and current member of the Porsche club, I have seen several positive write-ups about Funktion Auto and would have been using them had I kept my Porsche. I've heard positive and not-so-positive reports on Curry's. I think it depends on which location you use.

Locally for my BMW I prefer RRT:
    Road Race Technologies, Inc.
    Barry Battle
    23700 Overland Drive
    Dulles, VA 20166
    (703) 661-4222 (service)
"A full-service shop of BMW racing fanatics who can do everything you need, be it oil changes to fuel cell installations. Formerly of Bimmerworld, Battle carries quality OEM and performance parts, some of which RRT has custom machined to spec"

I second the negative issues with Currys. Will not use them again.

For Porsche stuff I use Intersport at Tysons.
