We are planning to get our deck built. Please recommend anyone who did a good service and also whom not to go with.

    Thank you

can you share a little more info such as the size, materials and general construction ideas you have? I have a great guy/company and he has done several decks in the area. I was just trying to get a better sense of the type of job you had in mind...

Whatever you do, DO NOT use Home Depot's "convenient, turn-key" solution...

    What a disaster.

In the end, we went with a composite deck from The Dexperts and we are very pleased.

My Neighbor is a deck Builder, PM me and I will give you his info, he has built server decks in the neighborhood already and is familiar with getting approval from the HOA, Building Permits, etc and he can show you his work in the neighborhood, he is currently building an enclosed deck across the street and a house out west, but I am sure he can work something out.

What is a homedepot's convenient turn key solution? Did anyone get their decks built by home depot or long fence. What is your experience with them. Except the home depot I heard most of the others give a one year warranty and home depot has a life time warranty and it costs about 2000$ more to go with home depot. Wondering how home depot's service is with decks.

Hone Depot's solution is to use the Home depot name and financing, but sub out the actual building / construction.

We had such a horrible experience with this...in the end, and after several failed county inspections, we had them tear down the entire structure and chose another builder.

"Best of all, The Home Depot stands behind the deck installation you receive. We handle everything so you can relax. Yeah....right!

Numerous calls to HD were basically ignored and/or they simply acknowledged no responsibility for the construction phase.

The Loudoun Inspector said he has seen this problem with numerous decks that were sub-contracted to Decks Amercia or Decks USA (they operate, or used to, under several dba's depending on the state).

Very long story short, I would not ever recommend them.

We used Woodscape and were very pleased. They came in thousands less then some other builders for a quality deck!

http://loudoundeckandfence.com/. These guys built our deck and 2 other neighbors. Great people to work with and very good pricing.
