All Broadlands Softball Team - Players Wanted!

All: This is a continuation of an old thread which was getting a lot of interest but was a bit off on the subject line. Anyway - I am looking to start an ALL-BROADLANDS softball team to enter into the Men's fall league which starts late summer. Games are typically played at the Sterling Annex and Potomac Sports Complex. Here are the details...

* Probably need between 15-18 players on the roster
* Must reside in the Broadlands
* Shooting for 25 and over
* Good players wanted but, at this point, all players needed
* Need volunteer(s) to co-captain
* WE HAVE A SPONSOR - GLORY DAYS

The league fee is $600 which is being picked up by our sponsor. I will, with the help of any volunteers with connections or not, be seeking another sponsor for uniforms, bats and balls - but, if one more doesn't come around - figure about $60 per player.

At the end of the day, looking to have a good time playing a sport I enjoy with a team filled with neighbors. Early games will likely be capped off with a drink or two at our neighborhood sponsor. All those interested - please post a reply and subscribe to this thread. It should be a great time...

I'm very interested, but depends on the night. Have you determined which day of the week you'd want to play on?

 

Won't know until we get closer to the start of the season...Right now - I play on Monday nights.

Like I said before, I was in 3 softball, 1 volleyball, 1 basketball, 1 bowling and 1 dart league when I met my wife. I also played golf several times a month.

Soon after marriage, it was 2 softball and 1 bowling. After child, it was 1 bowling for a year.

Now it is just golf a few times a month.

But I am content. Can't wait for my son to be of REAL sports age!

 

So, T8, do you want to play or not? Just trying to figure out how many guys we have so far...they'll be a notice in the June newsletter so I expect the number we have now to spike considerably.

 

I could not even begin to commit until I know what night it would be. Between sons activities and wife's work, I do not have alot of free nights.

 

I'd love to play. But I really have no skills other than your average Joe would. But if you need people count me in as long as it is on a night I can make it...any night but thursday.

 

I am in depending on what night it is.

 

I've never played on a softball team other then high school (football guy), but with a little help, I would probably all right. Count me in.

This is great news ... any idea on dates yet?

 

I don't know the day of the week we'll play. I do know - registration of the team will be in July with the league beginning play in August.
