We ate there (it is located in the Ryan Park shopping center in front of Home Depot) on Friday evening and were very impressed with the menu selections, the food, the service and the interior of the restaurant. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to those looking to find a place to eat where you don't have to wait 30-60 minutes to eat on a Friday or Saturday evening and not have to go too far.

Had dinner there last night and thought it was great! Great service, large menu and nice decor. We really enjoyed our meals.
(If I had to nit pick I'd say the only turnoff were a couple notes on the menu like "no refills" on kids drinks. My kids usually do not need refills but drinks really are inexpensive for restaurants compared to what they charge you and especially when the kids meals were all about $5. And "extra sauce 75 cents..." Just seemed a little frugal? Maybe just my perception?)
Anyway, we really enjoyed it and will definitely go back!

I don't think that is nit picking at all. Charging extra like these very inexpensive things could be a deal breaker as not wanting to try it out. Too many choices these days. Extra for soft drink refills and extra sauce is silly. I know it is expensive to run a business here but some things go too far. Yesterday I had a 100 lb package to send went to the place by safeway and they wanted over 150.00 to send. SHe was very nice, but I then went to dhl in chantilly and with insurance is was 41.64. Big difference for delivery for the same service(ground dhl) She said it was the cost of doing business in this area. BTW you don't even want to know what ups quoted. DHL is the underlooked severice and is very reasonable and excellent on delivery times. I use them many times over fed ex or ups or especially the post office with their long waits.

It is going to be interesting to see what business's make it here!!! Quality service and price are all important.

I have not seen a website yet? We've been there a few times and really enjoy it. Great food, service and decor! By the way, there was a coupon in the envelope of coupons that came in the mailbox this week. Also, kids eat free on Tuesdays.

What type of food do they serve? Sounds Mediterranean/Greek.

We ate here for the first time last night and really liked it. My wife and I are huge diner fans and were glad this place worked out. Service was excellent and the menu selection was great. Our meals were good - I really enjoyed the Greek Chicken. Nice spot for the family. We'll definitely be back.

Has anyone tried their pizza? They have a whole weat pizza that sounds interesting.

Also a big thumbs up from our family as well. We've eaten there twice now and both times had good food and good service. We've been amazed that on both occasions the place hasn't been very full - even on a Friday night! We really hope the traffic picks up a bit (but not too much) as we really want this place to survive. We've had chicken souvlaki, greek salad, spanakapita, and chicken avgolemono soup. Very nice atmosphere inside, and the waiters were very welcoming and attentive (without being overly attentive). If you haven't tried this place yet, you really should!

Hey everyone, i had breakfast with my mother at amvrosia this past weekend and it was great and it wasnt expensive. I had the french toast and my mother had the spinach and feta cheese omelette. This place beats the wait at ihop and it has better service. The breakfast hours are Sat. 8am- noon, Sun. 8am-3pm. :) They also have a kids corner for breakfast.

That's great to know you can get breakfast there. We usually head by the Amphora in Herndon after church on Sunday's since IHOP is such a zoo that time.

Everytime we have gone to Amvrosia we have had a great experience. It's quiet, the wait staff is great. The prices aren't crazy and I like the fact that my kids can learn something about Greek culture, too. I believe all the waiters are Greek. Next time you are in there ask the waiters to name all the Greek Gods in the wall mural. Some of them can, some can't but it's funny to see them try--and they enjoy the challenge.:)

sorry, bad assumption, the joke was how well you talked about the place. It seemed like a commercial. But I like the sound of this place more and more.

We had takeout from there a while ago and didn't care much for it. Maybe we'll have to give it another shot and dine in sometime.

I've tried both their whole wheat pizza and their regular pizza. The whole wheat isnt that good but the regular pizza is very good.

As a result of various moving/remodeling activities, we have been eating out constantly for the last 3 weeks - time and again we come back to Amvrosia - while they have a Greek tone, this is more like a good quality neighborhood diner. We have consistently good service and food here - have tried breakfast and dinner, sandwiches, greek platters, etc. - always very good. If you are looking for a great neighborhood dining spot, without pretentiousness, kid-friendly, wallet-friendly, and always a smile, this is the place to go.

we tried their gyro salad today and just have to say that mezza grills is not only way better but cheaper too (almost half the price!). i know there aren't a lot of mezza grill fans here because of their signage issues, but their gyro salad is truly fantastic! the meat tastes better, you get a better mix of lettuces, and their pita is better too. just our 2 cents if you like gyros! we will go back and try amvrosia for breakfast though.
