Any suggestions as to where is a good place within Broadlands for children to drive/ride in toy motorized vehicles?

I often let my little guy ride his along the paths connecting the various sections of the community. Yes there are some runners and bikers you have to watch out for but people look out well and move around.

Since I live in a cul de sac that works for us too. If you want a parking lot kind of thing, then any of the schools could be good on the weekends depending on sport activity schedules.

Not sure what your question is...

My son rides his on the sidewalk, the side of the street, etc. Of course, we live on a non busy street.

I was told that motorized vehicles are not allowed on the paths within Broadlands at all.

I would say that battery powered is NOT "motor" powered.

I see motorized scooters, toy motorized vehicles quite often on the walking path behind our house. There are no signs or anything indicating they are not allowed, but I've seen it in the newsletter saying they're not allowed. I really don't think a lot of people are aware they're not allowed.

...myself included. I guess my two year old and I are admitted rule breakers. Sorry for the bad advice.

Even those that live on a cul-de-sac or non-busy street need to remember that they are not allowed by Virginia State Law to be "driven" on the street. Not only is it illegal but very unsafe for the children, who are much smaller when sitting in them and if they come out from behind/beside a car they are not visible to those in cars. We do not need to have any future forum discussing how sad it is that a child was hit by a car. I do not understand why they are not allowed on the paths, it seems like a much safer alternative for everyone and probably more enjoyable for the parents to walk along than walking back and forth on a sidewalk. Is there anyway we "homeowners" can change the restriction to exempt "battery operated childrens cars"?

We have a dog - and those motorized vehicles come up from behind and scare ours. Also - we've seen the motorized scooters and they are fast and are even worse. What's wrong with bikes??? Better exercise. Just my opinion.
