Just thought I would start a Breakfast Restaurants thread. Where are your favorite weekly or weekend places to frequent for breakfasts (full service or bakery, cafes, etc.)?

We have heard Ashburn Cafe in Ashburn Village is good and they serve breakfast (full menu) seven days a week (including weekends!!). Has anyone been to Ashburn Cafe in Ashburn Village and would you recommend the Cafe?

Also, of course, ours is Lansdowne's Riverside Hearth for Sunday brunches. Our kids love it and prices are adequate for special events.

One place that my hubby recently tooks his employees to for an early morning Breakfast meeting (around 7 a.m.--about 50 employees) was Eggspectations in Chantilly near Westfields Office Park beside Applebees.
He stated that the service, food, and price points were fair. I have not been to this location; but we were in Montreal, Quebec Canada a 1 1/2 years ago on vacation and tried one of their restaurants. Pretty good food, etc.

    Website is: www.eggspectations.com (Eggspectations.)

O'Mias Restaurant (beside Sterling Annex Center) is supposed to be pretty decent too. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Foodie

    Re: Breakfast Breaks??

Ashburn Cafe is good. Their omelets are delicious. The breakfast menu is limited, but still I'm thankful for another choice when looking for breakfast.

Our little secret is Linda's Cafe in Sterling. We're always able to get a table. It's a hole in the wall with great home cooking! Their portions are large but not expensive. Also, a big variety in the menu options. What we love the most are the employees and customers are very friendly.

Ashburn Cafe has a really good homestyle breakfast. I LOVE their Denver omlette and crispy homefries. The service on the weekend isn't great. They are generally VERY busy on the weekend and only have 4 people working including the cook! It is a mom and pop so the owners are always there. The place is also pretty small, but we consider it cozy. Despite all that, they serve a truly YUMMY breakfast and the prices can't be beat. We've been going there for years and haven't found any place that tops it!

Please do not forget the Silver Diner. Best biscuits in the area.

We went to Linda's Cafe (on Church Rd. by the W&OD trail) one time and it really is a hole-in-the-wall place (not fancy, a little messy) but the food was good and inexpensive. We'd eat there again, for what that's worth.

I have to tell you all Mezza Grill had the most delicious breakfast I have had in a while. The french toast was great (the pancakes were not) but the eggs were great. The highlight for me was the hummus and the other similar option (like gravy on eggs) was hummus with fava beans. I forget the name of it. I noticed one customer with a platter of a little bit of everything that looked great. I will definitely eat there again!!!

I honestly was full until dinner after eating the beans.

we've been to eggspectations several times with only 1 somewhat disappointing experience. today- however, all was forgiven! my son and i had a delightful waitress, hot fresh delicious french toast, the turkey bacon was SO tasty and fat-less that my 8 year old now officially prefers it to "real" bacon, and the fresh squeezed juice was just perfect! add the fresh fruit garnish and great coffee- excellent way to start the morning! short wait too- less than 10 minutes, which was 1/4 of the Bob Evans wait.

if you haven't tried eggspectation and you are a big fan of breakfast, you really have to go. it's worth the trek down Rte 28!

What about that Greek place across the street from the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department? Is it still in business? We used to go there quite a bit for breakfast and always found it to be good.

Still in business as of a few months ago at least. Mediterranean Breeze. We went their for Mother's Day and it was great. I'd highly recommend them for breakfast. (Their night-time stuff is good too.)

I usually have to grab breakfast on the run on weekday mornings. My 'go-to' is Bean Scene Cafe off Waxpool, near the Ice rink. They have decent coffee and good food. The breakfast special (bacon egg n' cheese on croissant) is excellent. If you have time to sit down, they make a mean crepe too.

Cafe Panache's brunch is great on weekends. It's ~$16, including an appetizer buffet, entree, dessert buffet, and mimosa. Great food and relatively reasonable for a good brunch.

If you want an IHOP-type place with really good food, try First Watch in Herndon at Worldgate. Great place to take kids, reasonably priced, excellent food, and unique items on the menu too.

Another "me too" post for Linda's Cafe across 28 on Church Rd. Very good food, nice portions, fair prices.

Also, it's not breakfast food, but they make great burgers, and cheaper than Red Robin, TGIFs, etc.
