Again AOL is going to have a major negative effect on our area in the short term. But mr snows comments that he needed those buildings a few weeks ago when AOL announced moving the top people to nyc is uncalled for.
Yes our long term future is bright but the short term is going to be a bit painful but for the long term best.the right political leadership will bring loudoun back to reality.

Home sales statistics were released by the Dulles Area Association of Realtors today, and it's probably no surprise that the market was a little slow in September. Real estate bloggers Danilo and Tony have some speculation as to what impact AOL's decision to move its corporate headquarters out of Loudoun might have on the market. "AOL's massive layoffs could further hurt the Loudoun County real estate market by causing fear, uncertainty and doubt for all those facing being fired as well as all real estate buyers and sellers watching the situation unfold," they wrote.

I'm not aware any new "massive lay-offs" have been announced. They have had large lay-offs over the past few years and it didn't register a blip on the real estate radar.

There haven't been any announced layoffs but they will be official either this Friday or next.

Oh, there will be massive layoffs, you can believe that. Rumors have it at 25% across the board, and even some managers who had been trying to minimize it are now saying it will be big. Few people are doing any real work now; the place is like a morgue. Ever-changing, unimaginative leadership has run the company into the ground, and although many of them walk away with packages that I could retire comfortably on, lots of regular people like me won't be so lucky. I don't know what impact it will have on the local economy but I sure don't look forward to the impact it will have on mine.

One 'insider' indicated that October 16 was a date to keep on the radar; we'll see if he/she is right...

Another reason to vote for miller over snow.

I actually like Barbra but do you ever see Snow participate on these forums only barbara.

Again I am very pro growth with the good neighbor developers. Snow is getting no money or little money from the good neighbor developers. Dean and company who is in Snows back pocket from what I hear will try to get their thousands of employees to in Loudoun to vote for their bread and butter. You all saw today even tho they did not mention snow how in arcola trying to get over a thousand more homes even at election time. That will mean higher taxes and no improvement to the transportation system outside of arcola we need the good neighbor developers not these greedy developers which we have seen over and over. bring back the home town builder. you know the guy that built your parents homes.

Yes - Snow is responsible for the shift in internet companies from network providers to content providers!!! Oh man.. how did we miss that one?? THANKS FOR POINTING THIS OUT LEE!

What in the world are you babbling about? AOL's implosion has NOTHING to do with what is happening in Loudon county politics. Give it up already.

Like in Law or court follow the money trail and timeline and that will give you a good idea what is going on. And I did not say AOL and Snow are connected. But a statement he made about AOL are not helping them to stay here. Our politicians should help with good job growth. Do we want more and more strip centers and flex in the wrong places. Do we want more homes in the wrong places that we can't support without higher taxes that will increase traffic and put a larger load on the school system. . Flynnibus please read what i say not what you think I say and hear. I think we all can safely say we ALL want a better a beautiful and safe Loudoun for our families and children.

Do we need to get a forum just for Lee to post his Loudoun Co development junk? How many threads is it now in the last 2 weeks alone?
