There are several outdoor cats that live in this area. Before you go catching one and taking it away, why don't you knock on someones door to make sure you aren't taking a cat with a home? Most of the people around there will recognize the cats and can tell you who owns them. My cat is one that hangs out in this area. She wears a black collar with a bell that you might not see from a distance. There are at least 4 others that are outdoor cats on Huntsman Sq. and Autumnwood Sq.

This thread no longer applies; have asked administrator to please lock. Too many people have cats with no collars that roam, making it impossible to trap our own cat with any kind of efficiency.

Thanks for all the support though.

Jeez, relax.. they are only trying to be helpful. If your cat is an outdoor cat, it should wear a collar with ID tag - then there are no issues.

Helpful would be posting where you saw the cat and a description of the cat as they did. Catching the cat will likely cause problems. One of my neighbors has cats with the micro chips placed under their skin for identification. I believe they should also have collars so people know they aren't strays but they're not my cats so I have no say.

I wasn't going to keep this cat or turn it over to the shelter. I was just going to see if it was this person's and if not, let it loose. If it didn't come to me willingly, I wouldn't have chased it down either. I'm not heartless. I know there are cats that rome, with or without collars. Although, I would like to see more people put collars on them so we know they have a home. I'd hate to see a cat struggle to survive if it doesn't have a home.
