Check to see if the outlets in your garage are working. Our GFI switch in the garage (the room where the heat pump & stuff are) would trip every time it rained. It wouldn't reset so none of the outside/garage outlets or the lamppost would work. Finally they came out (Buhl Electric) and figured out there was a cut wire in the lamp post itself. Problem solved. It's a warrenty thing (or should be) so you can call VM or Buhl Electric.

I had the same problem and changed all the bulbs only to find out that a breaker switch had gone off in the fuse box so just turned it on again. You may want to check that first.

Ssripada: In addition to the GFI and the master fuse box, you also might want to check any outlets that you have in your basement that have internal circuit breakers. For some reason, Ryan put the outside light on the same circuit as an outlet in our basement with an internal circuit breaker. When that outlet trips, the outside light goes off, too! Oh what a joy it was to get to the bottom of that mystery!!!

Thats GFI issue. It blows off frequently in my home too. As soon as you reset it it works. Not sure, thought its for me only something wrong with electrician work in townhomes.
