Isn't trash pick-up usually the day after the holiday?

    Nope.

From the front page of the November Broadlands Community newsletter:

Reminder: There will be no trash pick up on Thanksgiving Day. Trash pick up will resume on Monday, November 26th.

Speaking of trash, is the company doing multiple pick-ups on recycling days? They used to take the blue recycle bin and any cardboard/paper products at the same time. Now the trash goes first. Then another truck comes to get the plastic/glass recyclables...leaving behind the paper. And by the time I get home from work the paper's been picked up. What's going on??

From what I've seen, that's always the way it's been done.

Agreed. It's not always been in the same order nor has the delay between rounds been consistent, but there has always been separate pickups on my street.

Separate pick-ups yes, but 2 different pick-ups for the recyclables? I'm saying that there's one pick-up for glass/plastic. There's another pick-up for paper/cardboard. That's what I'm wondering. The truck that came around for recyclables just a few weeks ago used to pick up ALL the recyclables at the same time (both glass/plastic and paper/cardboard). Now it's split into two pick-ups.

Yes, three pick-ups... trash, recycled non-paper, recycled paper. I rarely have paper to recycle, but when I do I've noticed just as you describe.

I always separate my glass/plastic from my paper -- I have two bins -- and they always pick them up separately. I'm not sure why they don't ask us to separate to make their lives easier. But since I always have so much more recycling than I do garbage I just got used to it.

We put out our leaves and grass clippings for collection yesterday and they didn't get picked up. I know there were a few of our neighbors didn't get picked up either. Has the policy changed? I have a call into New Visions but haven't heard back.

There are trucks in the neighborhood today picking up yard waste. It should be collected by noon. Due to the Holiday there was heavy volume and longer than usual lines at the landfill. Please be patient.
