Bad start to the thankful holiday :( Came home last night to a flooded house, some stupid water tube that connects to the fridge. Our kitchen floorand the basement below are ruined. We know we are going to need to replace the hardwoods in the kitchen and basement and we think the carpet outside the kitchen area. We dont even have the slightest idea where to look for prices. If anyone can recommend places to go for prices, or places to stay away from.... we would appreciate it more then you know. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Sorry to hear :(

Check with your homeowners insurance company first. If it is covered under your policy they will usually work directly with the companies to do the replacement/repairs.

That's a bummer. I've heard good things about Select Floors and Carpets (or Select Carpets and Floors, something like that) in Leesburg next to WalMart.

    Hi,
when my wife and I had carpet installed in our TH shortly after purchase, after shopping around and checking Angie's List, we went with Carpet Yard out in Tysons. Their store isn't nearby but the salesman/owner (don't have a card on me but I think his name is Joe? Dave?) lives in Ashburn was very fair and honest and doesn't try to upsell you to make a fast buck. The workers who installed the carpet did a great job, I think, we're very happy with the results. Much less expensive than Home Depot and Lowe's.

CY does tile and hardwood, too.

we've used American Decorating in Sterling/Cascades for years. It is a family owned store. Ask for Paul. They did our wood floors and stairs in our townhouse as well as replacing carpet, resilient in the kitchen and new counter tops. Then in this house they redid the entire bathroom tile (yep it was supposed to be blue and white with blue carpet for my son, but that room turned out to be too small for him so we had to re-do the carpet too!) in this house we put in so much wood that we got base carpet in the family and master, so they came in later to replace that, and they did the flooring covering my MIL's concrete balcony at Leisure world! 703-444-1177
