We would like to enclose our formal living room and make it into a home office. If anyone has any experience doing this and can recommend a contractor who is reliable, has reasonable rates, etc., we would really appreciate it. Also, any idea how much such a thing would cost? The current opening into the room is about eight to ten feet long and we would like a partial wall and a set of french doors installed.
    Thanks in advance.

Call Jim Larsen at 571-238-2012. He is a GC who owns his own biz called Persoanlized Home improvements. I found him through my painter. Jim has been doing this by word of mouth for 6 years and is licensed.

He is removing the master linen closet for us so we can enlarge kaos dad's closet on Jan 8th. For this he will charge $395 (which is his hourly rate). This job includes removal of the linen closet, reframing the wall. My painter, Ronald Jimenez, will hang the drywall, remove the tile in the closet floor and baseboard, re-use the baseboard on the new wall in the master bath where the door used to be, and paint the walls, for $500. So we get this whole job done for $895, which we think is very reasonable.

We are Broadland residents however our projects are in F'fx and Arl. Counties. Waiting for permitting on two new homes so have some down time for our guys. We are starting (late in Jan.) a rather large addition in Broadlands (getting a little break from the Greenway). Would be glad to send out a couple of our guys to t/c/o your small project. Call me 703-944-5448--Dale

House Doctors - Home Improvements is good (and licensed). They handle any size job - small handyman jobs to large renovations, so you only have to call one company for all home repair/improvement stuff. Call the owner, Joe Santucci. 703-286-5388. Good Luck!
