NRA Firearms Trainig Course

G17 and G23 here! If Broadlands folks would be interested in getting together for a Saturday afternoon at the NRA Range I would definetly be up for that.

Does one need to own a gun to take the course? sorry if that info is out in the thread already but I'm jumping around the thread to get info. I'm familiar with this info but a brush up would be nice, and I'd like my wife to know this information as well (she would like to know, too).

The only things anyone who takes this class from me needs to bring is themself,a positive attitude, note taking materials, and money for the class fee. Everything else is provided by me. Guns, ammo and training materials for me to use to teach. I also provide each student with a packet of materials that is yours to keep. I still have space available, but it is filling up fast. Let me know here in a pm or you can email me at basicpistol@yahoo.com or branney@nrahq.org if you want to attend. Don't forget that anyone who signs up for this class thru this posting get a 1 hour private lesson to be used at a later date FREE. Normal charge for a 1 hour private lesson is $25, plus the cost for range time and ammo used other than .22 caliber.

 

I have the Glock 26 in a Blackhawk Holster. That hides very well ,too!

 

I'm in the market for a handgun and have been looking at the P220 Carry (and Compact) Sig Sauer. Anyone have thoughts on this firearm or any recommendations on others. Any contact info for dealers is appreciated too.

Guns & Ammo warehouse out in manassas. My girlfriend and I are gun owners, I support my 2A and open carry just about everywhere I go including walking the dog.

 

G & A ware house is owned by an old work buddy of mine, good place to go

 

One of the topics covered in the class I am doing on this Saturday is about purchasing a gun. I have a friend who is a dealer and I usually have a stack of his cards at my classes. His prices are generally hard to beat.

 

What is the best way to get there from Broadlands?

 

Take Route 28 towards Chantilly, then get on rt 50 to Fairfax. Waples Mill Road is the first light after you cross over I-66. Take a left at that light. NRA is just down the street after the light on Waples Mill. We are on the right hand side. If you get to a bridge on Waples Mill you went to far. We are just before the bridge on the right. When you pull in you will want to park on the right side. Class will be in the South Tower Auditorium, the same tower the NRA Firearms Museum is located. I will have someone at the door to let you in. Class starts at 8am so make sure you are there about 7:45 to get registered. See you all tomorrow.
