Pei Wei Open!

Pei Wei in the shopping center across from Wegmans opens today! My husband and I got to eat there on the house this past Saturday (we were on our way to Cheeburger Cheeburger when the Pei Wei manager approached us and asked if we'd like to have a meal on the house while they are in training) and it was really good! We'll definitely be frequenting there regularly!

What does a Pei Wei serve?

 

Pei Wei is owned by the same company that owns PF Changs. They pretty much serve a limited PF Changs menu in a fast food type setting. You walk up, order, get a number, and then sit down with your number and servers then bring your food to you when it's ready.

 

I've only been to the one in Leesburg, but what I liked there during crowded times is the hostess/host gives you your number while in line and then places the number at a table. No waiting in line to order only to find out there's no tables available (or people getting there after you but grabbing a table before you...).

 

Thanks for letting us know. We've been waiting for this. We even drove by this weekend hoping they were open!

 

Gryphon, you disappear for months and your re-emergence is in reference to something called "Pei Wei" ?

 

Are you saying that Pei Wei did not deserve it?

As a Chinese-speaking freind told me, "pei" means "accompany" and "wei" means taste. So, that means that Pei Wei translates roughly as the "accompaniment of (or for) taste." I really agree. I hope everyone gives it a shot. It's definitely not just another asian food place in the county.

 

We went there yesterday and we have never been to one of these and wow I really was impressed about everything from the service to the food. Finally a semi fast food place with quality and decent atmosphere and the food was excellent.

It ain't exactly PF Changes, but it ain't bad, neither!

 

I heard that the Brambleton area was going to get a PF Changs. Is that right?

While I love PF Changs, I still have to say that my favorite Chinese restaurant of all time is Chengs in Sterling. The sea salt calamari: yum!

Funny you brought up the Moorefield project.

I was just talking to someone involved with this and the time table to start building has been put into "we don't have a clue when we will break ground, hopefully in the next several years." I would say the economy has put an indefinite hold on this and many other commercial projects.

What we have is pretty much all she wrote for many years to come. I think when we see the actual approval and construction of the metro only then we will the beginning of a very long recovery here in Loudoun. The rumor is now sprint may close it headquarters in reston leaving 5,000 jobs in jeopardy and moving to the nextel campus to consolidate in Kansas. hmmmmm could it be cheaper living and roads actually exist in Kansas!!!!!

Do you mean recovering to home values of a couple of years ago? I do not think we will see those prices for a looong time, if ever again.
