Just wanted to give some props to Kabloom in the Safeway shopping center. I stopped in yesterday to get an arrangement and was amazed at how gorgeous it was. It was created right in front of me in just minutes and I was tempted to keep it for myself. My sister loved it and ooh-ed and ahh'ed. I'll definitely use them again!

we used them to get some hydrengia (spelling??) blooms for a small table decoration for a party. I gotta say, one--i wasn't impressed with what i got for $8 a stem. two-->they said we had until thursday to cancel the order for saturday---then called us tuesday to tell us they were in. If i'm paying $8, i want them fresh ON SATURDAY. not a week old by the time i get them.

Sorry you didn't have a positive experience with them. I was able to pick and choose what I wanted in the arrangement -maybe that's what makes the difference?

you're right--that is nice to be able to pick and choose. i was happy with them until the phone call on tuesday letting us know the blooms were in that we needed saturday. although, they did have a longer shelf life than roses....not much though...

I recently had a very bad experience with KaBloom. My husband ordered two wrist corsages for our daughters who he was taking to their Girl Scout Father Daughter dance. She paid somewhere around $18 each for them. When I saw them I couldn't believe it. The flowers were these tiny little buds that looked like they may be roses - I couldn't tell they were closed. The ribbon and the greenery was the only thing you really saw. When you get a corsage it would be nice if you actually could see the flowers! I can understand if you get an arrangement and there are some flowers that aren't open yet - they are going to be put in water and will open eventually. However, a corsage is going to be worn that day! I was very disappointed and would not go there again.

    bbnsteele,
In my past experience ordering wrist corsages, from anyplace - including grocery stores, the flowers are always "young" looking. especially the tiny rose buds are never open.

We also got a wrist corsage for the father-daughter dance and I was really surprised at the lack of quality. I asked for all purple and got 1/2 purple and 1/2 pink. That I could overlook if it had been beautiful, but the purple stuff was some dried flowers and the pink stuff, I have no idea what it was. It was just petals of something unknown that looked way past its prime.

Guess they've gone downhill since last May. That arrangement I got back then was my first (and now, probably last) purchase from them.

Oh, and I ran into a mom that got a bouquet of carnations & some baby's breath from Safeway and was going to make her own wrist corsages for the dance. She probably spent $10 and was going to end up with enough for her whole troop! That's what I'm doing next year!

I guess the wrist corsage for the father-daughter dance was hit or miss, ours was very nice with 3 red roses, just starting to open. sorry to hear about your experience.
