But it could be true, hard to say. One thing is for sure construction is going to be slow and so will growth for many years to come.

I would be more for HCA in the broadlands if the road money was spent to help waxpool and another possible connection to 28 that is were it would do the most good. As you see by the newspaper reports there is no money right now to help waxpool. The new transportation plan does not have anything funded. The waxpool task force bless their souls has not even got resurrected as far as any meetings or at least I have heard about non, and just what can they do except band aids but they should be given a chance.

No Lee, you aren't doing any research. Why don't you look at the crash statistics on that road? Find out about the number of deaths. Find out why the county considers getting Belmont Ridge improved a top priority.
Contact the State Police about the truck issues.
THAT would be research. Not driving down the road once.
Oh and all those sirens you here coming out from across the street? You'd be amazed how many are heading to an incident on Belmont Ridge.

Here is the list Cliff, waxpool is on it 3 times in the in the top 12 and belmont and 7 although way way down there by the inova hospital has just been funded by the new transportation tax which has nothing for waxpool. Again Lori's district comes out with another interchange which will now make 7 lightless from leesburg to 28.

We are still talking about our problems here even tho waxpool is mentioned 3 times in the top 12. hmmm

Rte 7 affects 6 of the 8 districts in the county, as well as being a primary route from counties and states west of Loudoun. That is why it gets so much attention.

The thing is Lee, the traffic on Waxpool is not as important to me as the saftey on Belmont Ridge. One is inconvienence the other could be life and death.

    chick-
This is a valid point that I just didn't have the energy to explain to Lee yesterday (I usually feel like a school teacher when responding to him).
Lee tried to use the argument that there are more accidents on Rte 7, Waxpool, and Loudoun County Parkway; therefore the roads are more unsafe than Belmont Ridge. He doesn't address the fact that they are major through roads that have significantly more traffic.

They are better designed, wider, and actually much safer roads.
Belmont Ridge is two lanes, no shoulders, with numerous sharp blind curves.
It is SIGNIFICANTLY less safe of a road than Rte 7, Waxpool, or Loudoun County Parkway.

Lee, it's simple, lobby Stevens Miller to use the first year tax revenue from BRMC, 3.5 million dollars, towards improvements on Waxpool. That way both road projects may get done.

    From HCA's website: http://www.broadlandsrmc.com/CustomPage.asp?guidCustomContentID=25A2B63C-D29F-407D-A90D-028EE3912838

    Why Ashburn? And Why HCA?

It's clear from the statistics that Loudoun needs a second hospital. That's really not open to question. But why should Broadlands be built in Ashburn? There are many excellent reasons.
First, like all critical services and infrastructure, hospitals are best sited where their services are most needed. Broadlands Regional Medical Center is located in one of the fastest growing areas of Loudoun, exactly the area thousands of residents are currently leaving to seek hospitalization outside the county.

Sounds like one of Lee's arguments AGAINST the hospital. No facts, just stating opinions as if they were absolutes.

BTW, this is a great discussion thread, incredibly informative. Here's some history I need to understand if you can help: what reasons did the Supervisors give to saying no to the Broadlands Hospital a couple years ago and why did they seem to favor Inova so much? Am I missing something here?

    I'll say this:
Look at what party took over control of the BoS at that time.
Look and see who the head of that party was and if there were any ties to Inova.
Look at who the chair of the Planning Commission was and look for those same ties.
Look at who the head cheerleader/campaign manager/adviser was for several of those that won was and what their allegience to Inova was.
    I rest my case.
