    New Red Robin

Free Lunch for a select few tomorrow! I don't know how you get it, but some were eating dinner there for free tonight!

Quite often new restaurants will have the family members of their staff in for dinner to give them a night or 2 of live practice.

T8ertot CANNOT WAIT for Red Robin to land. Every day he asks, "Mama, is that Red Robin open yet?" Or, "Look Mama, cars and lights at the Red Robin!" He's obsessed.

Yes, Monday the 4th is when it opens. We were one of many that stopped by tonight thinking it was open, but it was only for those with reservations. The hostess confirmed the 4th as their opening day.

I bet Fosters will actually benefit from the overflow of people who decide they don't want to wait 2 hours for a table at Red Robin!

That could be true. At the Annapolis Mall, Red Robin and Johnny Rockets survive right beside each other and both were packed when I was there a few weeks ago.

We went to Red Robin last night (last hoorah before Lent started) and on the way out walked past the Thai place next door. There was only one 2-person table occupied in the entire place.

Of course, I don't know how many people ate there before RR opened.

I haven't yet been to that Thai place, but from what I've heard, it's supposed to be pretty good. As I've said in the past, there's no shortage of Thai, pizza or burger places around Ashburn....

I got takeout from the Thai joint last week and was pleasantly surprised. I always get chickan Pad Thai as a litmus test for new thai restaurants - it was very good. Ambiance in the restaurant was also nice - much more upscale than I had expected. That said, I hope it can survive. There's a thai restaurant in every strip mall now. I have no idea how they can all make it.

I know what you mean...I have no idea how they're all going to make it. We don't eat Thai that often, it's kind of pricey compared to Chinese, but every once in a while we'll get a taste for it and usually go to Anothai, but we'll have to try some others as well.

We just ate at the thai restaurant near RR for this first time and LOVED it. Its my new favorite thai place in the area. Their Panang Curry is so good!

We ate a Bangrok last week and were disappointed. The entrees we ordered lacked flavor, the soup was way too salty, and the chicken satay was just gross. I'm glad others had a better experience, but I think we will stick with Anothai.
