Is there any recourse for damage to my sprinkler system by Verizon while digging for fios?

Did you get a handbill notice delivered to your door from Verizon or their subcontractor? There is usually a contact number on that. Otherwise get in touch with Verizon. They are required to return the property to its original condition.

Probably not if your sprinkler was in the utility easement.. as many people mistakenly do. If it wasn't in the easements, then they should repair or pay for repair.

It appears the easement covers my whole fron yard as the holes are all over.

The utility easment would be marked on your plat.

Yea go back to the copy of your Plat but ultimately, I would go to the county and get the official copy there too... the one I got from the builder was slightly off and out of date. You need to see the area of the easement, because if you put the sprinkler inside the easement, and that is where it is damaged, then I think you are out of luck. Hopefully it was just the head and connector and not the main PVC pipe.

We won't know till the spring turn-on to see if they broke our sprinkler. However, they did cut our comcast line within the first hour!

Beware of this (cutting existing cable right away); it can be a week plus between this step and actually getting FIOS working in the house.

They actually fixed it when I pointed it out. They had all the tools and connectors, so it appeared that they are used to cutting cables.

Ok, maybe it was an accident, but I've talked to multiple people who've had this "accident". Its part of their evil business plan I tell ya' (along with cutting your copper phone line).

I was excited about Fios. Until the sales gy came out to my house to offer his best "deal", which turned out to be about $20 more per month for my tv/ internet/ phone. The clincher- you can opt out of the "free" tv offer and get $10 off the monthly bill for a 2 year contract. So the free tv really costs $240... No thanks!

What were the "best" deal details for tv/ internet/ phone? Per Month/Annual?
