Did I miss something about Bertucci's? Health department problems or maybe it was built on an ancient Indian burial ground and is cursed?!?!?!

I haven't been there yet, the complete lack of cars in the parking lot (even weekends) makes me wonder. It seemed packed when it first opened.

Good question - haven't been there yet...but that's only because I don't really like that restaurant. I did hear from other people that it wasn't very good.....

I went there on a Friday night about a month ago and it was crowded. Had to wait maybe 20-25 minutes.

We tried on a Monday night about 4-5 weeks back and it was a mob scene. We had our toddler with us so a 40 minute wait on a weeknight wasn't going to work. We came back to the B'lands and dined at San Vito's. :)

Try a Monday night now, and you can have your pick of seats. My point is that they were packed when they opened, but it is a ghost town now.

maybe its because their pizza tastes like propane and not wood, like it is supposed to? they cheaped out when they built this one by using a gas fired oven and you can taste the difference. go to Herndon -- or to American Flatbread!

The past couple of times I have been to Herndon, it has been packed. They do a very good lunch business as well (and their pizza tastes the way it's supposed to!).

I'm just not a Bertucci's fan....it's just average to me. but I've heard several people tell me that the Herndon one is just not very good food quality wise. Everyone has their own opinion....

We ate there a few weeks back late on a Friday night (8:15 ish) and had to wait about 10 minutes. We enjoyed the food quite a bit.

I think any restaurant in the area for dinner just does not have the crowds that the places over by the Mall have (other than Clyde's). There may be exceptions, but even the chain restaurants (not to mention the smaller ones in the strip malls) struggle to get a solid crowd for dinner on weekdays and even weekends. I bet you can go to the Ruby Tuesday's in the Village and get in without a wait at any point. The Red Robin is the newest restaurant and I am sure that will be busy for a while and then die down. I doubt any of them do well for lunch, but since I work downtown don't ever see them during lunch. I would be interested to see the crowds in the restaurants by the hotels (closest to AOL and Verizon) during lunch.

I believe most restaurants are fairly deserted on Mondays - after the weekend. I've also been told that Mondays generally are not good days to dine out since they have not replenished food supplies. Anyone else hear of this?

Then again, perhaps the novelty has died.

Actually, while I haven't been there in about a year, there were times that Ruby Tuesday had a wait on the weekend. Mimi's Cafe usually has a wait on the weekends. Even Anita's had a short wait the night we were there.

The restaurants near Five Guys stay busy on weekdays at lunchtime the times I've been there. Especially Moe's and Five Guys. I had lunch one week day at Cheeburger Cheeburger and the crowd appeared to be mostly professionals at lunch; and it was pretty full.

You should also try Amvrosia Restaurant, its similar to betucci and san vito. They have good italian dishes and pizza. Reasonably priced:)
