    Reminder...

A March Family Program at the Nature Center

    All ages welcome
    Date: March 1, 2008
    Time 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.
Barbara Chambers from The VA Bluebird Society will visit the nature center and talk about bluebirds in general.
How to set up a bluebird house or reinvigorate the one you have will be discussed as part of the National
Wildlife Federation Backyard habitat program in Broadlands. A naturalist will be present to either read a story
about bluebirds or do a craft.

Do bluebirds look like blue robins? I've been seeing them all over the place! I can honestly say, living here in VA is the first time I've seen bluebirds in person. Neat.

They do look a little like robins in that they have a red (actually orange) breast. They are smaller than a robin. And they have a very nice song it almost sounds like they are whistling a song.

The rain and warm weather will bring out both the bluebirds and the robins as they both love to eat the worms that come up from the ground when it rains.
