I don't have a solution, which is why I keep my mouth shut and don't waste everyone's time repeating the same old rhetoric...

Yep, it pisses me off every morning. They think they dont have to wait like the rest of us, as if the law or common courtesy does not apply to them and just fly up that 2nd lane and make an illegal turn. I'm sorry, did they not see the other 20+ cars waiting.....get back in line Waldo. When Im in the front of the line in the legal lane, I always make my turn into the farther lane to keep any "yahoos" from doing just what you're describing. If he hits me fine, but who do you think is getting the ticket? It wont be me, unless of course I can't refrain myself and the 1 1/2" diameter lead pipe I keep in my car from "detailing" his vehicle... . And Im surely calling the police specifically to have it reported so the retard does get a ticket. Hopefully, that would be one less person causing problems. Please folks, do not be the one who does this next to me because I guarantee there will be problems. Just drive safe, drive smart and be respectful of others around you. We all deal with the crappy situation, but by putting yourself above others, that only acts as a catalyst to an already tense situation.

Yes, but that change to take the merge away was to get another lane of traffic on the main road... its actually the opposite of this situation. At LCP you are adding a lane... at Pacific you were LOSING a lane. The conversion to a light allowed what was a turn-only lane onto pacific from waxpool to be converted to a through lane.

The traffic coming from the west of LCP on waxpool is WAY worse then the traffic coming up LCP. No way the light should be made shorter for the LCP side. The light is not bad at all by most standards.

pea I was thinking the same thing the officer mentioned. The fact that part of the problem is there really is no room for enforcement there (especially at the icehouse light). There is no room to see an infraction and then wave them down and have a pull-off area. Certainly doesn't help their efforts :(

I think the officer just standing in the median though would help.

My issue about the Waxpool Task Force is that it was terminated before it even had a chance to meet. The new Board has decided to shelve it.
Even if there is no money currently available, trying to work solutions has benefit.
It could help with future planning for the corridir and, if the state ever figures out what it is doing, plans would be in place IF some money ever got to the county for road improvements.

I have lived in othe rplaces where roads are planned out years and decades into the future, even though there wasn't a cent to start them, but it provided the road map for the future.

I've been told that there will be some other county group formed to look at the Waxpool issue. We shall see...............

I took LCP to Waxpool this morning, and the solution to the "illegal turns" is to simply not use the turn lane. What I mean by this is that there are 2 right turn lanes and if you do not go into the far right lane and stay in the left one the other drivers can not change lanes into the turn lane. The way I see it is that everyone who is waiting in line goes into the far right lane to turn is enabling the other cars to do what is making you all upset. Just my opinon, too bad this will not work at the ice rink intersection.

Have you ever actually tried that? I did a few times and not only did I get honked at any yelled which is always funny but these people forced their way into the lane. If I would have held my ground there would have been an accident. It's way to agressive at that intersection. This is also where we start seeing the people turning in from the third non-turn lane. It's just out of control.

Well, that's what I did this morning. No one honked, cut-in, etc. They waited until someone else used the far right lane.

maybe they should blast Yanni or classical music at this intersection- it calms savage beasts- why not road ragers and aggressive drivers...? :)

i am only half joking. The Man gets pretty uptight in traffic especially at rude, inconsiderate, dangerous, reckless, idiotic drivers. so i told him to put on classical music or jazz on his way home instead of metallica or rap music- and he said it IS hard to be angry to Mozart...:)

I've seen people do this coming to the light at Waxpool near Weggies. They get in the going straight lane and when the light turns green they turn right! Great for all the My way or the highway peeps, who believe they are invisible and have the right to disobey traffic laws. Well I would have to say Redon (and you know I like you) that going around cars already in the turn lane, to get in front of the to make the turn is totally out of line. Many times Kaos and I have wished we had a small rockets on our cars to blow the heck out of the traffic scofflaws! Just have a button to push - kind of Mad Maxian, ya know? I try to not let it get to me so I don't build up MORE stress, but I tell ya, this area with it's narcissistic drivers, is really getting to me!

i NEVER do that- i find it to be very rude and i don't let ppl in when they try it. i have even rolled down my window and told someone honking at me that they should have waited their turn like the rest of us! i won't say what they told ME since this is a PG netowrk... :)

re-read my post- I turn LEFT and make a u-turn if the line up is too long off of LCP and onto waxpool. or turn left- hit Cafe Rumi, then get in line on Waxpool. but cutting in line? uh-uh, not since kindergarten taught me better, not my style. (i like you too Brassy!)

All this cutting in amounts to bad manners (period). Rudeness is no excuse because someone couldn't wake up half an hour earlier or manage their time better. So they drive like a raging maniac cutting in line and causing eveyone who waited more time to wait. I always wondered - do these same drivers behave this way outside of their car - are they just cheaters and get overs believing they're more important than the next person?.:rolleyes3:

I don't follow you at all... the problem is people from the straight lane (the 3rd lane) dart into that second lane or even try to turn from the 3rd lane itself. By sitting in the 2nd lane (which is where I turn everyday anyways) what do you suggest you are changing?

The problem is the 3rd lane darting into the 2nd lane or trying to turn wide of it. The 1st lane (furtherest right) is just doing its thing.

I don't bother with the far right lane because traffic is so solid on waxpool there is zero hope of turning on right, so why even bother. And the wait for the 2nd lane is usually less.
