Java Jones (formerly Hawaiian Scoop)

We checked in today and they're not open yet. Said they'd be open tomorrow morning. Looks great! Lots of ice cream flavors, shave ice (the snowy kind like in Hawaii, not the Sno-Cone kind), but maybe not coffee at first because they're waiting for a part. I hope this one stays open!

 

They're open! Yea! Everything we used to enjoy at Hawaiian Scoop plus shave ice with LOTS of flavors! The part for the espresso-drink machine is still on order. They also have wi-fi there, and a few pastries that looked good too. They said they'd be at Broadlands Live with their shave ice machine too. I think it's a winner!

Ok, our family will certainly become regulars!

 

I hope those guys make it. They've got a terrible location. Not only does Ashburn Road get less traffic ever since its closure at Rt. 7 *AND* the extension of Claiborne all the way to Rt. 7, but also their storefront doesn't even face the street. You can't see them from the road. As Comic Book Guy might say, "worst retail location ever."

 

The fact that they serve coffee and food might help some. I know I'll try to get some friends together and go check it out.

If you haven't been by we have Lappert's Ice Cream, Shave Ice (with 30+ flavors), Dole Soft Serve, Espresso bar, Smoothies, Soda, Pastries, Sandwiches, Salads and Snacks. We have also added some TVs, free wifi and new furniture, Including some seating outside.

We thank everyone who has come by and hope to see everyone else real soon!

What are the store hours? Do they serve the Dole softserve everyday? I presume that's the pineapple flavor.

We went to Hawaiian Scoop before, but on the wrong day, so we were not able to get the pineapple ice cream I wanted to try.

 

The flavors in the softserve change. I 've been when they had orange and raspeberrry and went yesterday and had the pineapple.

I think they open for 7-9 on weekdays and 7-10 or something like that on Saturday.

I will try to post our Dole flavors. There are so many great ones, it's hard to keep everyone happy. lol

Pineapple is the most popular, so we try to keep that as much as possible. Right now we have Pineapple and Strawberry. Hope to see everyone soon!

Where is Java Jones? Is in "old" Ashburn or Broadlands/Ashburn areas?
It sounds good. Kids would love a good treat from a local business.

I found out this info on a foodie forum that I blog on (besides Broadlands) about a foodservice company where you can mail order the Dole Whip flavored shaved ice.

I think it is best to eat at Java Jones. We frequent local businesses too. We will try it next week when we are all back to normal--when hubby is back from England.

Where is Java Jones? Anyway here is some background from the forums that I frequent about Dole Whip. The Dole Whip apparently comes in 7 flavors. Chocolate, Strawberry, Raspberry, Vanilla, Mango, Orange, and Pineapple. I guess you can also swirl the flavors--right?
