Can anyone recommend a good pediatric dentist in the area? I know there is the one on Truro Parish (Ashburn Pediatric Dental Center) but if have had a good experience with that one or any others, please let me know. We have 2 little kids we need to take for their 1st dental experience.

    Thanks!

Thanks for asking Chance... I was about to ask the same thing so I am in the same boat that you are and wondering what some people's opinions are with Ashburn Pediatric Dental Center... good or bad.

And if someone has other recommendations too? (in the general area preferred).
    Thanks

You might do a search on this, I know there was at least one other thread on this topic. I have one former dental-phobe who as a very young child would scream and cry at everything in the dentist's office: the toothbrush, the light, the water squirter, literally everything. We had very patient and loving care in Fairfax and were torn between reluctance to change and the pain of driving so far and missing a half day of school for every appointment. We finally tried Dr. Lynda Dean-Duru at Ashburn http://www.kidzsmile.com/ based on the recommendation of a kid who likes going there. It's a very busy practice, but wow do my kids love going there. The hygienists are wonderful, the individual movie-players are hypnotic, the games in the waiting area are a hit, and Dr. Lynda is the most calm and gentle person I have ever met. We request her even though it can mean waiting longer for an appointment, so I can't say anything about the other dentists there.

Both of my kids have been to Ashburn Children's Dentistry once. My oldest loved it and I expect my youngest to catch on eventually...it was just his first dental experience

I would definitely recommend them! Also, the insurance filing was all handled by them and it was a very painless process.

i did a post on this a short while ago. after thinking about it, we decided we didn't want the pediatrician, long wait, type of atmosphere and ended up bringing my almost 3 yr. old to our family dentist Dr. Michael Han. My son did great, and the staff was great with him. It's convenient for us to all go to one place just two minutes away!

I had that same thought but my dentist is in Vienna (Dr. Papastergiou - who is by far the best dentist I have ever had!). I work in McLean so it is convenient for me, but not so much to go get the kids in Ashburn and then bring them back to McLean and then back to Ashburn, so I am trying to find someplace in the Ashburn/Leesburg area.

I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Dean-Duru at Ashburn Children's Dentistry and also about Dr. Valerie Woo at NOVA Pediatric Dentistry. I haven't tried either one yet but plan to use one of them soon. Apparently both practices are excellent with kids and have offices that make children feel comfortable.

"They" say as soon as your child starts getting teeth. I've also heard when the kids have a full grill. I started all of mine when they were 2 years old (well after they developed a full grill). At the very early ages the dentists don't really clean the teeth. They get them used to the experience so at 3ish they can do an actual cleaning. Our youngest's first time was counting teeth and checking out the equipment used.

We just took our 21 month old to Ashburn Children's Dentistry (http://www.kidzsmile.com/) and had a really good experience. Our son actually cried when he had to leave!

Dr. AJ Patel and Ashburn Ped. Dental are excellent! I have taken all 3 of my sons there for a few years. We have expereinced all the various needs and procedures there as well, from pulling baby teeth (with my son saying "when will he start" and not realizing that both teeth with full roots were out already!") to filling a few cavaties to regular check ups. All have been wonderful, and my boys now have a positive attitude and experience with dental care because of it.:clap:Plus the movies showing above the chairs eases any stress, too.
It is convenient (we walk!) and easy to get appointments, too. They usually have all 3 in and out under 1/2 hour! They are one of the only Broadlands doctors in the neighborhood, so give them a try, we should support our local professionals who excel.

We also go to Ashburn Children's Dentistry and really like Dr. Lynda Dean Duru. Have been going to her for 5 years and think she's great!
    Highly recommend!

We go to Dr. Crystelle Rodriguez-Singh, I forget the name of the practice but it is in the medical buildings on the corner of Claiborne and Ashburn Farm. She is wonderful, and sing she does, the entire time she is looking at the kids' teeth. We started taking my son at 3 and the first 2 visits, she mostly just got him used to being there, made him comfortable. My daughter will go next week (she's 2) but only because I think she'll tolerate it better than my son would have at that age and also she has a specific dental issue that I want the dentist to look at.
