I don't assume the worst but when you hear how many of you all ***** how poorly your homes are built you get very defensive with this tough crowd. I am very critical because I have a large scope of what is being done in development and what works well and what does not. From many people in the industry directly at seminars and trade shows and from people I know in the business.

I get a chuckle when Cliff and others challenge me about who I know in the building business like it is some kids game. :devil2::devil2:

I only say what I do because good neighbor development can bring a better lifestyle more time with family and friends instead of sitting in traffic hours a day. That is lost time for most. Good neighbor development around here does not have to reinvent the wheel every situation that this county will encounter has been done successfully somewhere else. I just hate to see this county going backwards. Good neighbor development should bring with it transportation solutions not worse problems, which are happening here with no major solutions in sight. The schools are starting to have issues because of bad neighbor development.

You can't come up with solutions unless you understand the problems and that includes good neighbor development. Now back to work or in my case it is like fun

Now I know what song you remind me of: "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon. You know, you probably think this post is about you, don't you, don't you? Your ego and dismissive nature knows no limits!

If it's so much fun, why don't you get more involved? You have nothing but negative things to say except for when you say that you know everyone. One would hope that if someone had all the answers to everything that was going wrong (especially if they're living in the middle of it), they would stand up and actually provide those answers to those who aren't in the know or run with the right crowd.

That is because you constantly name drop without dropping actual names. You tell us that you know and are friends with hundreds, NAY, I say THOUSANDS of dignitaries, VIPs, and high up muckity-mucks. Hell, you still haven't said who your actress friend is. Why the dang posturing?

If I had a dollar for every time you mentioned you knew "someone important" without really telling us who the person is, I could friggin retire!

Lee, I love ya man, but your rants and ravings about construction, planning, architecture... is just plain OLD. You are adding nothing new to your posts. You are just saying the same thing over and over.

You know, you could truly have a brilliant idea or thought but no one will listen or pay attention since you have rambled so much about your "love". You have become Peter and the construction/architecture/planning business is your wolf. No one wants to hear it anymore.

Change up! Talk about beer or wine you have tried, talk about movies, talk about ANYTHING but your passion for a while.

    PLEASE!

I have in the other thread talked about wine tasting and cooking at wegmans!!!!!!!!:happygrin::happygrin:

As far as my actress friend you were invited to a party at my house when she was here a few months ago and she will be here when I have our next party for Dalyns birthday in the fall with the annual live band and nope I am not going to say who the band is or the lead singer ;)

I thought better about saying who she is because how the snoops Linux want to do these internet searches and then say nothing good. So I learned my lesson ;)

T8, he can't. He is too full of himself and has to prove that above all, that he is right.

Lee, try this. This is me and David Koechner. You may know him from Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin, The Office and many other movies. I let you know who it is and where he is from. (sorry for going off topic)

Um, that was a not-so-subtle clue for you to let us know who your famous actress friend is, Lee. Care to give it a try?

Update: I guess not! Just like Gryphon--bow out when you get called on something. Anyone taking bets for how many minutes--er, seconds--it takes til Lee breaks his promise and starts posting again?!

Lee, please don't go. Who will tell us how inept we all are, who will post the negative slant to every story and tell us how awful everything is in Loudoun?!

How close is the nearest "residential" and how far does it need to be to meet Lee's all knowing acceptable requirements?

Clyde's is far, far closer to homes than this hotel. And Clyde's has four bars and probably has lots of drunks leaving. Yet Lee constantly applauds this facility as the epitome of a good neighbor developer. Anybody else see the obvious contradiction here?

Yes, Lee can draw pretty pictures, but gives you no expertise or insight into planning. Based on hundreds of your posts, I'll stick with the techies and air traffic controllers. I notice they use facts, logic, and evidence to support their opinions. You use......Leespeak.

    Lee, you say it all.

Lee, you demonstrate your own ignorance. I don't think you even know where this property is, or how far away it is from existing residential.
If you do know, then your opinions are even more inane.

Seems to me that you start all the bashing...when people don't cowtow to your self-absorbed opinions. Stick to drawing pictures...if you have to rely on your spelling abilities, you'll be out of work.

Lee, don't confuse me with someone else. I have never asked, nor do I care, who you know. You loved telling us albb about all the powerful influential people you know, and how they were all coming in to town and have a big meeting to revolutionize the county. Of course, it never happened.
What a joke. It's all in your mind, my friend.
I have no interest in who you know.

Let's see......DC Davis worked for a member of the Board of Supervisors and is now employed by the county. He is, and has been, involved in many land use applications and re-zonings.
Lee......reads a blurb in the Washington Post.......This is the demonstrated extent of his knowledge base and understanding of county zoning regulations.

Gee, I wonder who is correct.........

Ok Cliff I had to come off my vacation for a moment!!!!

I am not going to go thru answering all your foolish statements.

But the big picture here is the lack of scope and vision to finish off the eastern part of Loudoun in na beautiful way instead we will get the hodgepodge way, when it could of been truly a masterpiece in planning and zoning. There will be no roads of any consequence built in the next several or more years that will alleviate much of the traffic pain except in Lori waters district with several interchanges to go into construction soon. And the continuous extension of the two feeder roads on each side of rt 7 to a help alleviate the local traffic along that rt. Rt 7 is fast becoming light free from 28 to leesburg.

Something that was forgot about along the greenway and rt 50 although rt fifty will has some feeder roads in the future. The brilliant design of the waxpool interchange that now has traffic baked up at times dangerously onto rt 50 at least there was some forethought to building feeder roads along the rt unlike the greenway. The brilliant half used sterling interchange that soon will be even more of a show of stupidity when the west side will soon be blocked by flex buildings so the future traffic will be diverted from the broadlands and moorefield and surrounding urban developments an to be larger the reston urban area all dumped to one point to 606 or waxpool which are already overloaded. At least reston had the foresight to build feeder roads along the toll road. But the brilliant planners in Loudoun do not see the need out here for feeder roads along the greenway for even a more dense development. The greenway is about to choke a horrible death and waxpool will even get far worse when all the development is built around here as there still will be hardly any other way out to 28. Rt 7 corridor is far better planned. But the hospital is going to make it easy to get to all the money in the Brambleton area by widening belmont.

Like I said before the planners of brambleton put a lot of thought in the separation and transitions between uses. No surprises for the residents there. No I am not fixiated on brambleton but it is a awarding winning model how to plan with no surprises to the residents.

Oh Cliff you give me a major laugh when you say that all I do is draw pretty pictures ha ha ha How do you think all those details and ideas get into those pictures?????

How do you think those pretty pictures get built??????

Where do you think the construction documents come from to build those pretty pictures???????? Who do you think the clients are that pay for all the pretty pictures

Yes cliff there is a tremendous amount of planning and detail that go into those pretty pictures, but you would not have a clue how to read most of those construction documents. So many are into the details before the big picture is presented then you fill in the details, just like you do in planning a county, a pud, or a dog house. The waxpool interchange looks like a perfectly executed interchange built from the engineers drawings wonderfully. Small problem the traffic backs up onto 28 many times during rush hour. So it does not matter how well built and how well it was structurally engineered because the interchange does not work well at because someone DID NOT DESIGN IT CORRECTLY so all the rest no matter how well done it is becomes meaningless if the big picture and overall design sucks at least that ramp from 28 to waxpool.

This is a very famous saying in the business schools seems appropriate for what is happening in loudun these last years. There is a very sublte but poerful message here.

    """"""""""" Managers do things right

    """""""""""Leaders do the right thing

"""""""""""'You can be doing the wrong thing very well

This saying is not saying what it appears at first glance:devil2:

Well it is almost July Ist which I told myself I will take a very long vacation from these forums on that date so goodbye for the summer. :devil2::devil2:

Lee always goes on vacation when the heat gets to intense. The whole is too deep Lee, you're busted. AGAIN!

By the way...by definition design is art. Art is subjective, some people like it, and some people hate it. Seems like you need to find a different audience.

You are correct afgm the audience for my work has never been on these forums and I never had that expectation anyway ha ha ha ha :devil2: I would turn down anyone from these forums as I do friends and family, mixing all that always turns into a nightmare especially some on these forums and you know who you are.:devil2: Besides I do not need the work I have too much as is

But I did post to correct a mistake above the """traffic backing up on 28 not rt 50""""

Finally I can go on vacation from these forums. :devil2::devil2:

Lee, do you actually drive on these roads before commenting?

I often drive down Rt 28 from the Rt 50 area and it is never backed (you typed baked, not sure if that is EXACTLY what you mean tho ;) ) up due to the Waxpool interchange. NEVER!
