You mean the last 15 minutes, right?

So he should have known the rules! Hahaha, just kidding. The reprimand is a bit ridiculous. I guess the NOPD have nothing better to do but to make sure retiree's have the door hit them in the rear on their way out.

Article states that "Guidry's pensions and benefits won't be affected although the punishment hadn't yet been decided."

So they're going to 'punish' him, maybe dock his pay for a day or something, get a ton of bad press and the whole thing will probably blow away in 24-48 hours.

I'm 100% behind the officer. He's retiring, and this won't affect his benefits or pension. The NOPD can just looks like a bunch of idiots, while this fine officer can sit back with a cool glass of lemonade on his front porch, knowing he did the 'right thing', according to his values and to salute his fellow officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

At this point, if I was the officer, I really couldn't care less about the whole situation; He did what he set out to do and he did it.

True, but what a crappy way to go. The man should have been honored not reprimanded like a first year rookie.

I'm glad this made national news. Maybe whoever is responsible for being such a knucklehead will have this thing blow up in his or her face. Thanks for the mayor contact info. I sent a comment.

I tried to send a comment but received a delivery failure notice. Maybe their servers are overloaded with so many responses for being so petty.

<sarcasm>Seems like a good use of taxpayers' $$</sarcasm>

Did that article say that NOPD internal affairs was involved? Aren't these the kind of cops that are supposed to bust cops for taking payoffs, for endangering other officers, etc.?

<sarcasm>Maybe the D.A.'s office has nothing better to do.</sarcasm>
