Don't get too excited about that connection being completed in july. Waxpool is about to be under construction soon to be widened. So I guess we can expect another year or more of construction after that segment is finished. Further without a light or 4 way stop at ashburn road this road will still be a nightmare. And there is no solution to the part of waxpool in the works at all between 28 and smithswitch. All I hear is more talk studies and task forces which to me is just a delay tactic to appease the masses. Got that from baby bush """appease"""

The only real solution to waxpool is getting gloucester to nokes which will never happen until something is approved with kincora, which the last bos blew. and yesterday at the bos meeting the twilight zone supervisor Andrea McGimsey thinks the state should pay for it ha ha ha where has this woman been??? then she thinks they ought to fill the kincora very prominent site at 7 and 28 with basically data centers which are basically by right so you would not see the gloucester connection in our lifetime. This supervisor Andrea McGimsey needs to be gone and hopefully soon. I guess I am the only one that travels and sees extremely successful urban style developments around the country built in once suburban settings and how they can improve the demographics and the tax base and a true work live and have fun environment. We need urban housing to attract the singles and the married without children. And supply the local businesses with another demographic to offset the suburban too many children demographic.

I will add to alleviate the waxpool congestion between smithswitch and 28 probably just as important and probably even more so since most of the new home construction is south of the greenway a connection from shellhorn to the half used extremely expensive sterling interchange if it's path does not get blocked by industrial. And another connection just south of the greenway from LPC to 606 and non of these connections are on the proposed new road system in Loudoun. This whole corridor along the greenway to 28 and 606 is being affectionately the funnel. ha ha I could of not thought of a better name and if the road system is built as planned in this area along the greenway it will be the funnel into hell. :devil2:

Well they (nearly) finished the side walk on the Broadlands Blvd section heading up to Nokes. The road is basically all done. They should really open it up so one doesn't have to go over the gravel road which is in a very bad condition right now.
There still is this one house across from Overland Park. Hmm.. I still try to figure out how the developers plan to construct the drive way for this poor guy. It is soooo steep! Better hope he doesn't drive a Corvette or Porsche.

Just came home on the new road. Woohoo!!!

I can't for the life of me figure out why they would have put stop signs where it crosses Ashburn Road though. Ashburn Road does not stop. Does it makes sense to stop traffic on a four lane divided highway, while an old 3 lane country road continues without stop? Who was the genius behind that?

FWIW ... I suspect that Ashburn Road will initially have a higher traffic volume, and thus have the 'right of way' so to speak.

the interchanges at shellhorn/village, old ryan road, the interchanges at the greenway there, etc should all have already fully demostrated the lack of planning or oversight by competent people in our transportation designs.

I see there appears to be yet another access on waxpool from the industrial park right before smith switch. Insanity
