I am sure this has been asked.... but wish the weather getting nicer (hopefully) i would like to have a fence put up.... can someone recommend a company?

We have one of those green boxes right behind our house so i will be interested to see where our property line falls..... No one else in our row of townhouses has a fence and very few on our court to......

Second for Armor! I actually think our entire cul-de-sac used them as well (7 of us).

When we moved into our town house back in 2000, we had the telephone and cable box both sitting two feed inside our property line. We had the utility companies move them for our future fence. Well, they didn't quite move them enough to clear a fence post. Now they're saying there's a cost to relocate them!

I thrid Armor Fence. I had my TH fenced a couple of months ago and was totally satisfied with their service and work.
They came out with that equipment to locate the property markers on my property before starting construction: that helped a lot since my neighbour had build his fence a good 2 feet inside the property line and I would have "lost" 60 sq. feet of my property (2 x 30 ft wide) if I just referenced our fence based on my neighbours'.

Please be sure that you find the metal stakes which define your property corners or have a surveyor come out and mark them...I've seen too many fence companies "guesstimate" incorrectly. If they are wrong, the resident pays twice for the fence; once for installation and once to move it...

Also fences do require an approved application from the modification subcommittee prior to installation. Go to www.broadlandshoa.org and click on Design Guidelines for all the information you will need to get your fence approved.

Almost a year ago we went through and got quotes from many fence companies. We decided to go with Carter Fence. They were not the least expensive, but they were very competitive and very professional. Today, I had to contact Carter Fence to request that they come out and replace a picket that has split on our gate. I left a voicemail around 9 AM and less than two hours later I walked into my backyard and found my gate already repaired! Many companies talk the talk, but very few actually follow through with customer service after the sale. Carter Fence is one of those companies!

Isn't Carter was the company responsible to the inital fences that outline the Broadlands? I hope they did a better job at your house than they did for the Broadlands. The fences lean, some just fell over. I don't know which company came out recently to repair the fences, there job isn't much better. Maybe, Carter has improved their service and if so good for them.

    Enjoy!

If I remember right ... those fences are over 15 or 16 years old at this point, and did not have proper maintenance for over half of that time.

Can't blame the fence company for that .

The fences in my 'hood are only 8 years old and have been falling down for the last 5. The post were never put in correctly, which is why they are falling down.

We are looking at building a fence too. Looking at some posts here I was wondering whether we could build fence right up to the property markers or the back side or do we need to leave any setback?
The side yard I know there are different easements that we need to consider which in our case is unfortunately 12 feet from the street leaving us with a very small fenced backyard.

You can place the fence on your property line. However, as you noted, corner lots have a Building Restriction Line.
