To whomever was laying on the car horn this morning around 6:10am around village dr, thanks, I love to wake up that way. Very considerate of your fellow neighbors.

Sorry Erika... that horn about 5 minutes ago was me. I was just rolling to a stop going southbound on Claiborne when I could see coming up along the left side of me was a black SUV with NO intention of stopping. He blew right threw the intersection without so much as tapping his (her?) brakes. I hit the horn to warn everyone else at the intersection to keep their eyes open so we could avoid an accident. I shook my head and proceeded through the intersection after stopping and I noticed that one of the cars stopped at the intersection, going northbound on Claiborne, was a LOUDOUN COUNTY SHERIFF's vehicle. He did nothing. Just continued on his merry way.

it must suck at times to live so close to an intersection that has so many lousy drivers blowing thru it... :(

i have to blow my horn at least one in 5 times of using this intersection to remind the jackhole cruising thru without stopping that the stop sign is for EVERYONE to follow- he aint special!!!

Just curious - was this a larger sized SUV? On three separate occassions I have seen an oversized black SUV at this intersection, driving exactly as you described, about 45 mph without even tapping on the breaks. It's almost as if the driver has no idea there is a stop sign there, but I cannot imagine how that can be.

It wasn't as large as a suburban, but it could have been a tahoe. I did notice that it went all the way to Croson.

I was flabbergasted that the sheriff did nothing.

I've seen a large-ish black SUV do the same thing there as well. I was waiting to make a right turn from the Nature Center and it blew by me. After I pulled out I noticed it kept it's same speed and the brake lights didn't even flicker. Went straight through the intersection.

I've also seen a dark silver/charcoal gray porsche 911 FLYING down that portion of Claiborne. I was going the opposite way so no clue if it actually stopped.

No worries I thought you were just saying "hi" - pitty that the LCS didnt pull that jhole driver over. I am tempted to get the super soaker out (again) and/or buy spike strips for the ppl that blow that 4-way stop.

Ahh...the things I wished I had known before we bought our home (near the intersection) lesson learned...:angryfire:

Not to pick an old wound, but I was behind the stop-sign-blowing large-ish black SUV today, which blew right thru the stop sign from Wynridge Drive turning left onto Claiborne, then proceeded to barrel down Village drive at 40+ mph until pulling into their side street, and then their driveway.

I now know where they live, and can easily get their license plate number. The vehicle is a black GMC Yukon.

But should I bother to do anything with the info? It's just my word since I have no proof at this time.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me this morning, but at the Broadlands / Claiborne intersection. It was a black, late-model Chevy Tahoe (the only noticeable marking was a W bumpersticker on the left-hand side of the tailgate glass). It blew through a light that had just turned red. I reported the license plate to the non-emergency line of the Loudoun County Sheriff. They seemed aware of the vehicle but emphasized that they really cannot do anything other than just chat with the vehicle owner (who may not have been the driver).

Sure it was a dog? I've come out several days in the past few weeks to find small presents left in my driveway or in the garden area next to it (buried under a pile of mulch that was dug up from another area of the garden).

I was ready to blame raccoons or a local cat....

Not being an expert of scat, I can say this much. After posting, I thought "hmm, could it be an animal". But I have never known of a wild animal to crap on a driveway.

After the initial shock value, I am going to convince myself it was a lost critter and not think a neighbor would really let something like that happen :)

Not an expert either but I have found leftovers on my deck on two separate occasions. By the looks of it (fibrous) I doubt it was from a cat so we're guessing raccoons since it happened over night. Raccoons don't care where they go.
