Better yet - put your cars in the garage, if you have one.

If i could fit the family vehicle in the garage (small garages on townhomes) I would! :) unfortunately we have a monster vehicle to fit everyone.

I know I know...... not ecofriendly!

and then CLOSE THE GARAGE DOOR, especially if you have a fridge or anything not nailed down that has value, otherwise the little hoodlum wannabes will steal it.

Those little jerks are either dumb as dirt or have some big cohones considering a cop lives on Welby and usually has his cruiser parked in the lot on the street.

I believe that the cop came home early morning and noticed that the cars had been ransacked. So I dont think the cruiser was there.... but I can't be certain. All is hearsay and I hate gossip - but I just know what the cops told me personally. They said nothing about who reported it.

Either way - its ridiculous that people would do that, but then again ... I didn't realize that so many people left their cars unlocked. WHY?????

I trust no one ... I dont know who will come driving down my street. This is definitely a prime example to never get to comfortable with your neighborhood safety. Always be on the lookout.

    Paint Ball Trip Mines!

"Oh, they're easy to find, officer. Just look for hoodlums covered in florescent paint!"

I told my wife I wanted to setup some trip wires tonight - haha.

Of course, we setup something like this, the little SOB gets hurt and then their family sues us.

Perhaps we could up the HOA fees and subcontract to Blackwater.

Echoboy thought of paint balls when we walked past them the other night. He then upped it to pepper balls. They wouldn't be able to see where to run!

must be fun to have them on your side. I wish they were on mine. A friend and I (we're both 18) were walking back home (near Vestals Gap) from Mezza Grill, and were stopped twice by two different security guys, I assume because we have no good right to be outside at 1 in the morning.

Funny though, the first one started talking big about how he didn't want to see us on his next round. To this brash statement I asked, "Or else what?" He managed to hull he massive bulk out of the car and stated not so nicely that the cops were going to get involved. "Fine," I said, "I want to see how you justify calling the cops on two adults (as in, no curfew) merely walking on a sidewalk." He got in the car and told us to get lost before pulling off.

Someone needs to talk to these guys about their demeanor.

i hate that you were harrassed for doing nothing- i've been thru that and am bummed that it happened to you. but think about telling your younger counterparts that you KNOW are likely up to no good to quit ruining it for everyone! there is an assumption now about young ppl out late being up to no good, unfortunately for you.

that said- since you weren't in the middle of doing something wrong, i'm sure it would have sat better with you if security had said- hey if you see anything going down, be sure to let us know, or something to that affect. but your snappy response probably ticked him off as well. :) anyway, it may happen again so be prepared to smile and say that you will gladly report anything you see, and thank them for being vigilant to keep our neighborhood safe. :)

That's one heck of a walk... 1am from Mezza Grille - do you work there, or does it normally take you 3hrs to walk less then 2 miles? The place closes at 10pm.
