Does anyone know of an organization that accepts used toy donations? The organization we usually donate things to does not accept toys. Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

That is actually where I usually donate and they typically won't accept toys.

Huh. They sell them... do they accept them at the Sterling location?

There is a Salvation Army donation center/store in Leesburg off Cardinal Park Drive. I've taken things there before.

We have given several times to the Lupus Foundation. Toys, clothes, books.

    They come and pickup.

I was going to say to donate to the Leesburg Abused Women's Shelter, because we've donated toys there in the past. But when I looked up the website to link, it says "Due to the recent recalls, we are not accepting used toys at this time." So now I'm interested too, since we have a bunch to give away and had been planning to take them there.

The thrift store associated with the Christian Fellowship Church has accepted toys in the past, I would try them.

Also you may try Purple Heart or Lupus Foundation ( As mentioned above ). We have used them both for donating toys, childrens clothes & books.

+1 on AMVETS, they just picked up for us recently- clothes, toys, books, shoes, and as soon as we clean it up, and old but working and still relevant computer. they leave a tax receipt for you. convenient and a great cause.

Salvation Army in Leesburg does not take toys anymore. They turned us away a week ago. We took the toys to Hope thrift store on Ashburn road. They took the toys. It seems they take almost anything at the moment.

    Thanks,
