I just heard that the cops were in pursuit of 3 teenage boys in a silver BMW and they flew through Vestals Gap, across Demmott and landed in the woods. Did anyone else hear/see anything? Hope everyones O.K.

But the important thing is are the trees ok? I hop those boys get punished harshly as I see alot of mommas and children walking there daily. Someone [innocent] could have been hurt.

I just saw a helicopter land behind my home (off Larchmont) on the new street and pick up a person, looks like someone went to the hospital.
I wonder if this had anything to do with this?

I think a med-evac would have been able to land closer to the site...there didn't seem to be too enough damage to the other kids...Homer Simposon, I agree there was a real potential for a tragic situation and I think the Sheriff's office will deal with them approriately...plus I've got a nearly 16 year old student driver...I definitely want a clear message sent to him as well!

All 3 boys were taken away in different abulances and they did come close to hitting a woman and her little boy who were walking down the street. Pretty scary stuff to see!

They're just now trying toget the car out of the wooded area, but it's pretty banged up.

all three boys need a nice trip to the POKIE for a few days! also, unless the car was stolen, the parent who let them drive should be dealt with accordingly. FWIW

One of the idiots tried to run right after they hit the tree and the cop had to pull his gun. Don't these kids ever watch "Cops"? no good ever comes from running from the police!

sorry.... i've got a new baby here, but i'm getting better @ 1-handed typing. i saw the tail end of it all, heard the car chase and the big crash and then the cop yelling at the idiot kids. i assume it was a stolen car by the way they were running. they just removed the car a few minutes ago and it's a mess.

sorry i don't have more details!

Ouch Charles ....In defense of parents of teens (and I've got 3!)...Teenagers can be the most responsible drivers when their parents are around but put three 17 year old boys together and they get "real stupid/real fast"...I like to call it testosterone poisoning :)I'm not suggesting that the boys shouldn't be punished, but the kids of good responsible parents sometimes do very stupid things...

No offense, but I hope your kids know that there is a HUGE difference between teenagers doing stupid things due to "testosterone poisoning" and three kids running away from a cop at 60 miles an hour down a residential street and almost hitting a woman and her child!!!!

I hope the parents of these three kids don't view it the way you described below.

I totally agree these kids were at fault and I don't know the whole story but, if he was just fleeing from the scene, pulling a gun in this situation seems excessive and dangerous in this neighborhood setting. I wonder what the Loudoun County Sherriff's policy is on when this is appropriate.

No offense taken and certainly there is a huge difference...my comment was that the children of responsible parents can do stupid things...and no matter how hard we try we can't always prevent them from doing them...btw are you a parent of any teens?

Leesee .. we have no idea why they were running from the cops in the first place, they're doing 60 in a 25 zone tearing up the roads, go THROUGH a stop sign through a 4 lane divided road, TA'd into wood, and the cop who's seen them just miss a mother and child sees one of these SOB's running away ...

Um ... and you're second guessing the cop ?? Good GRIEF !!

What do you want him to do, yell at the kid that he'll go tell his mother!!

    Can of worms... Opening....

Similar to the tragedy that happened earlier this week in western Loudoun-15 yr old girl driving her 2006 Jetta that she was given in anticipation of her 16th b-day next month, clocked at 80 MPH in a 55 MPH at 4:00am on a weeknight (week-morning). Cops, UNAWARE that she was 15 yr old in her b-day present tried to initiate a traffic stop, 15 yr old speed to 100 MPH and wrecks. Story I'm hearing at work-"it was the cops fault because they shouldn't have been chasing an innocent little 15 yr old".

    Worms everywhere :D

Very interesting seeing all of the different comments...... Does everyone remember back when they were kids? Maybe I am just old, but in the 70's when I was 16, most of the kids drove around drunk or stoned in the afternoons...... Didn't drive preppy BMW's or other snotty cars, but drove z28's, mustangs, chargers, or mirco vans....I am not condoning what the kids did, but what makes this generation any different from ours?????? We just want to punish bigtime, or put lawsuits against everyone including the police.... I guess I don't want to be to much of a hipocrite.... (darn, where is spellcheck when you need it...lol)

Latka, so there is a legit reason to run from police and not to obey their commands?

Redskins99: I used to tear up the dirt roads in westmoreland co in the 80's Got 2 reckless (speeding), but I never ran from deputy dawg and I always said yes sir [as I tuned my radio to country...]
