Wanted 14 or 12 inch boys bike w/ training wheels

Hi,

I am looking for a gently used 14 or 12 inch boys bike w/ training wheels. May be 16 inch would be fine too.

Just meant as a helpful thing to consider... a "balance bike" is a great starter for kids that are learning to ride a bike. If the child is ready for a 12-14 inch bike, then they are just right for a balance bike. It is a bike with no pedals. Looks and feels like a real bike but the kids "run" while sitting to get speed and then pick up the feet like a scooter to coast, and thus teaching them balance and bike riding skills. They put their feet down to maintain balance.

I have seen it work great for all the kids on our block. My little guy was riding this way in 2 weeks and he did it himself, which at this age, is a huge deal. It may be harder to find one used but just look online for a balance bike or running bike.

I know it is like having to buy another bike but the next one you buy will be a little bigger after they master this one.... food for thought.

Thanks for sharing this info. I didn't know about this product, seems neat. Although It seems it would be a little bit smaller from my son.

We have bought a Hummer bike 16-inch from Toysrus for him but it seems its too big for this summer. He will be able to use it from next year. So that's why looking for another one a little lighter/smaller for this year.

 

The upcoming community-wide yard sales should be a good place to find one too...
