it definitely works both ways. we've complimented the service and food at the original steakhouse and bonefish, which has resulted in even BETTER service from the waitstaff! word gets around when you compliment (and reward!) great service, and the whole team goes out of their way for you.

321 Ashland had a great brunch- the service was fine but nothing to rave about. but if I have to choose a place in the Broadlands for an upscale meal- I'd take Bonefish first any day of the week.

To be fair though San Vitos and Mortons are in 2 different classes of restaurants. That said San Vito is on my 6 months not going there due to bad service. I'll try them again since it costs me less than $20 for my wife and I to eat there. NOT the case with these higher end restaurants. These places are there to CATER to special occasions and when you are paying a premium for food you get a premium for service. If they don't deliver I don't go back.

The owner offered to pay for our meal but I declined and simply said we would not come back.

make it a DINER that serves breakfast all day!!! I can see it now- the Broadlands Diner... only place in Ashburn to get pancakes at 6pm!!

Wish I had the cash to buy that lot- a good diner would be very successful.

I love it, a Diner, perfect and it would be nice to have some 24 hour places in Loudoun

Yeah, some people thought a "nicer" restaurant would do well too.

To me, it is a shame that many people whine and beech about the numerous fast food and pizza joints yet I do not see them struggling for business, but a relatively nice restaurant in our backyard goes under so soon.

We are a fickle community IMHO.

Well I tried it and the service and food was horrible. Maybe that's the reason it failed.

My wife and I went several times and it was just the opposite for us. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

I wonder what the norm was for them.

My thoughts on why it failed:
Price was very high for this area. We are a mostly family community. Taking your family to eat there would be extrememly expensive. There was no lower price items for kids, and they kind of implied that they weren't looking for that type of business.
Location was wedged between a couple of lower priced and extremely popular restaurants...Bonefish and the Steakhouse.
I think if he had opened with his "Broadlands Bistro" concept and munu, the results might have been different.

I am all for a breakfast place!!!!! It is something that I think is sorely missing from this area.

That's the truth. There are no good breakfast/brunch places in the area. That would be nice to have around here.
