A debate about Romantic Love

Here is thought, maybe "love" is different for everyone. Maybe that couple that quarrels just about every day, is just as happy as the couple that doesn't.

 

My brother and his wife never argued...they discussed things....they're now divorced...so go figure....

 

Arguing doesn't mean a marriage won't work. It's what you argue about more than the fact that you argue. As I think I said, we've been married going on 28 years and we argue and then we make up. I've read that people who don't argue may be apathetic, which never bodes well for a relationship. I never believe someone who says they never argue with their spouse. That either means they're a doormat or just don't care enough to argue.

 

good points all! arguing is honesty in my relationship... we don't agree, we get it out, it's over with. it's HOW you argue also. are you mean and say horrible things you regret, or do you fight fair, stick to the issue and say nothing hurtful?

a good argument is like a pressure valve release!

I've been married for 30 years and we argue, then make up...but we also pick our battles too....no sense in arguing about stupid things. We have a solid marriage......but I know for a fact that my brother is very apathetic....he's never wanted to rock the boat......hence his wife gave up.
