AC Out Again!

    My condenser fan (outside unit) is not running. Could this be a capacitor?

    Probably. Can you remove the cover on the side and look at the capacitor, if the capacitor looks bulged or is leaking oil, it's toast.

    Often times the capacity doesn't look damaged .. sometimes yes. If the inside unit runs but the outside unit never kicks on .. good chance its the capacitor.

    Yeah, watch out for Modern Mechanical.. they charged us >$400 just to change out our capacitor a couple weeks.. 20 minute job and a tall, tall cost.. buyer beware! Best thing to do is to buy one as a spare (i.e. grainger.com) and replace yourself when needed
