Anyone know the status of the accident at Claiborne & Wells? I passed by around 1:20 or so and it appeared to have just happened - a crowd was gathering around, but no police / rescue workers on site yet. The driver of the car was still in the vehicle and it appeared that she was in a great deal of pain.

Looks like she may have been trying to cross over to head north on Claiborne a was squarely hit by a minivan heading south. Significant damage to the car.

Zeratul, I stated the wrong intersection. Just passed through there again and believe it was at Vestals Gap, not Wells. When I passed the accident, I made a left to detour and ended up traveling past the pool to get back on waxpool to claiborne. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it was Vestal's Gap & Claiborne. I didn't see the accident but heard all the sirens. Seemed like the emergency equipment was there for quite some time. (We could see the trucks and lights through the trees.) Hoping everyone involved is OK.

ok thanks. I thought it might be the case. I had a couple of neighborhood kids out there within 2 minutes and they saw nothing. Facebook/social media is good for something!

Has anyone else noticed there seem to be a lot of car accidents lately? This one happened yesterday and on Sunday we saw an accident in Ashburn Farm and Crossroads, that one looked bad. People, slow down.....drive defensively!

Or drive offensively and get away from all the OVERLY defensive (i.e. scared) drivers. ;)
