Curious if they actually opened today and what the reviews are.

Gorgeous!! Went in at 3:30 to purchase tickets for the 7:00 show and they were already drawing in quite a crowd. Sure beats Countryside. The whole town center is going to be fabulous when it is complete!!

Hopefully the Brambleton theater will do a better job of maintaining a family-friendly environment than the Regal of Countryside. The last time I was at the Regal in the evening, there were teens running around everywhere with no supervision, cursing and having no respect for those around them. I will not go to the Regal until they do something to maintain order in and around their theater. Many theaters in Fairfax County and Alexandria City have a police presence, which seems to keep things under control.

Walked right up (actually drove, parked in the garage and walked right up) at 5:00 PM for Fantastic Four. Got right in, bought tickets and got the free small popcorn they were giving away. The theater is setup like an H with 8 screens on the left and 8 on the right separated by the main entrance area and large snack bar. Was surprised that they didn't have more restrooms, although the ones they had were quite large. The theater we were in I assume was one of the larger ones. Huge screen, great sound and very comfortable leather rocking seats with plenty of leg room. Very tall theater from top to bottom with great views for all. Was not crowded at all when we left as I don't think they were doing much to promote it this first weekend in case they weren't able to open. Plus it gives them a chance to get all the new employees used to things vs a new restaurant when it is packed the first night. Lots of nice landscaping put in all around the entrance, including some very, very tall trees that were planted recently. Once the center is completed with the Barnes and Noble and the restaurants and other stores it is really going to be something (and just 1 mile from my house!). I can see my home appreciating already (or at least earning back some of what was lost in value the last two years in the area).

This is one of the most beautiful entrances to a movie theater in the country. The german made fountain, in the very large plaza and as said before the large trees gives you the feeling you are going somewhere like a hollywood event not just a movie. The long urban park ending right at the front doors of this theater. The loby is large and spectacular in an understated way. Not in your face design yet the high arched vaulted ceiling and space again makes you feel you are going to an event not just a movie.

Soon there will be Restaurants with outdoor cafe style seating adjoining this plaza. The view from the plaza back to the urban linear park is fabulous and guess what?? There were people just walking and milling about throughout this park. What a phenomenal gathering place that people can get outside and enjoy talking to their nieghbors. The landsdown town center tho nice just does not give this same ambiance especially with the seas of parking lots and lack of very large outdoor space like the Brambleton town center. The Brambleton town center is going to be even more people friendly then the reston town center. More human in scale, Like the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica California.

Developers keep wanting to replicate the fairfax center with the giant box stores down by fairfax parkway and 66 and rt 50. I am not impressed with those centers with the oceans of parking destroying the ambiance as well as the box stores on steriods. Hopefully we don't see much of that out in loudoun, but Steven Snow is trying to stuff that junk on rt 50 and more will be built on rt7 That concept of retail is not what is happening in the better retail centers in the country. The fairfax is the old style junk not the new happing projects being built throughout the country.

We need more projects like the brambleton town center with well landscaped and architecturally designed parking garages replacing the oceans of uncovered crap parking you must wade thru to get anywhere from the parking.

My hat is off to Mr. Fox who is the developer of this beautiful urban\suburban brambleton town center. Hence the name of the theater named after the developer not the Studio:) but it is a nice play on words and a class act.

Thank you Mr Fox for being a leader in making loudoun beautiful and livable.

Haven't been inside yet but won't the majority of people going to the theater miss the front design and landscaping since they will be entering and exiting through the parking garage? Not sure how this is going to work. Will you be able to park in the garages and access the restaurants and shops without going through the theater?

you are correct. The garages are really on the side of the theater and they spit you out right where the future stores are going to be. Exitwise you can skip out without seeing the plaza.

They take you from the garages to the main street via a connecting portion of the bldg and you then walk down a couple of storefronts to the main entrance. I am sure leaving the theater you can exit the rear of the complex, but I know I'll always want to go through the front and take in the entrance again. Plus, there are so many residences close by a large number of people will walk from their homes like I saw them doing last night. There is a very nicely done fountain/monument (like the many others in Brambleton) at the front entrance near the main road that looks like it will be a place where entertainment will be with a small seating area. Lots of benches and park like settings for people to walk off their meals and wait for the movies to start (or eventually browse through the bookstore).

Brambleton does a very good job of landscaping throughout the community, like the Broadlands does, and has made it extremely pedestrian friendly. It is a very dense development, but so many of the homes/apts/town houses are in nice settings and close to the town center.

We saw a 6:50 show there - lots of parking, and the garage exit that we found put us out on the plaza so we didn't miss the nice entrance. Great to see neighbor kids working there! They also sell Pizzerio Uno pizza so it made a great dinner movie with really comfortable seats. I'm sure it will get more crowded, but it's really good to have an alternative to Regal!

We went to Regal once and never went back. The sound system was horrible as were the seats and the kiddies running around. Preferred going to the Phoenix Theater as an alternative but now we have Brambleton. Can't wait to visit.

$7.75 for a matinee ticket. Guess my movie viewing habits won't change much.......$1 DVD rental at a Red Box................
You can have your waterfalls and leather chairs......lower the ticket prices!

I beleive that Regal Cinema is 8.00 for an adult matinee. 25 cents seems like a good amount to save, when I factor in gas and such.

But Cliff, there's so much leg room! You won't pay a pretty penny for leg room? Hubby is 6'4" and had plenty of room in a middle row. The lobby was deserted this afternoon; looks like the opening is still a pseudo-secret for now. It's nice to be in such a CLEAN theater (AHEM, Regal...) for once.

Being 6'4' myself, I do appreciate leg room. That's why I go to matinees on weekdays....hardly ever any people. I can spread out.
Movies simply cost too much. I'll still go a few times a year. If matinees were a reasonable price like $4, I'd go much more frequently.

I went on Saturday to a 12:00 Pirates showing. My friend and I had the entire theater to ourselves, which was pretty fun. Beautiful, inside and out. Comfortable and the sound system was amazing. The employees were very friendly, and actually smiled, and said thank you. Not sure how long that will last, but it was nice to see employees that were not surly, or annoyed that they had to actually wait on customers.
The theater, and the center itself is a definate plus to all surrounding neighborhoods. Great place for a movie and dinner date!
