Anyone ever participated in a VA wine tour or hired transportation?

We were chatting with our neighbors over the weekend and pondered the idea of taking off in the near future to tour some of the local wineries. Anyone have any experience with some of these companies that offer tours/transportation? Just looking to take off late morning and return that evening... not an extended trip or anything.

    Many Thanks!

Yes, I've done several in the past 3 years. All in the Loudoun Conuty, Route 9 area, Hillsborgho, Round Hill, Waterford and just outside of Leesburg. I usually just set up the bus/limo, meet at a spot in Broadlands and we all go. It's not too bad or hard to do yourself. I can help you, point out some places to go, some places to avoid and the places that don't "allow" buss/limos on their property (yes it's crazy). P.M. me

yep- we've done Reston Limo several times and had a ball both times. people who were strangers when the tour started were friends when it was over! :) highly recommends it- loads of fun.

We use Virginia Wine Adventures - they do a great job and are reasonably priced. Be sure to hit Delaplane Winery - it's awesome.
