I used to row crew (6th). I have OA in my left knee and am wearing down the cartilage in both knees - thanks to the way my caps ove (thanks to my genes). I can row, but for Allover fitness the real ergometers used by rowers is supreme.

Anyone have one they don't use anymore...Probably not, but I thought I'd at least ask.

I'd bet the old-style ones you want are pretty rare now. They have one where I work plus one of the newer models, I prefer the old. :) You could try ebay.

Where did you row? (Not sure what you mean by '6th'). I rowed at West Potomac in high school and at Old Dominion U for a couple years after.

I rowed at GMU. 6th meatn I was in the powerhouse seat. 6th back from the Coxswain. I'm looking at the concept 2 Model E rower online and that is ultimately what I want. You can even get sliders to underneath it so it feels like the same movemnet in the crew shell!

Ah, ok. I rowed in 8s for a few years in various spots, was one of the very few that could switch between port and starboard at any time. I've never heard of the powerhouse seat term before however.

That E looks pretty cool, but I still prefer the old trustworthy B. :)
