So I drove home today and noticed a lot of surveyor stakes installed around the intersection of Waxpool Rd and Loudoun County Pkwy along with a project billboard posted in the median. This commonly means large project about to go underway, anyone know what is happening???

Saw the same thing and am wondering too! While we are at it, I am wondering when will the road from Croson lane to Belmont Ridge be done?

Am surprised they are all building SO many houses right now at this location and AT Brambleton!!! Im wondering how they can afford to sell the houses when the housing market is not that great...Im told that over 5,500 houses :screwy: are being built this year and will then stop with a housing mortorium over the next 5 years??? Did I hear that right from a friend of mine? :conf2:

They're probably putting in another traffic light on Waxpool because apparently there aren't enough on that road...

I saw the sign being put up on Sunday. It's in the median so unless you're sitting in just the right spot during bumper to bumper traffic you're not going to be able to read it. Whose brilliant idea was that???

And if it is the sign I am thinking of, you would need to get out of your car and walk over to the sign in order to read it. Pure genius.

Yep, that's the sign. What ticks me off are the folks who will slam on their breaks so they can attempt to read the sign as they slowly pass by... It's a huge sign in the median with about a dozen 8.5x11 sheets of paper on it, with tiny pictures and normal sized text you would see on a piece of paper that size. As pirate mentioned, you would have to stand about a foot from it to read anything, in the MEDIAN no less...

    Pure genius indeed....

That is crazy...in the mornings there are already a ton of people coming off Loudoun Cty Pkwy coming up to that entrance onto Waxpool and doing a U turn to go back down Waxpool toward Rt 28 since LC Pkwy backs up so much in the mornings. This light will just enable even more cars to do this U Turn and cause even further back ups on Waxpool for us.

I had actually heard that, too. They are trying to enforce a proffer from the developer of the (undeveloped) land across from the nightmare that is that former restaurant row.

    Crazy...

JUST in time to be able to access all the business in that plaz---- oh WAIT. there ARE none. :screwy: (5 guys could live ANYWHERE- they almost don't count!)

what a mess- do they really think a LIGHT will improve business in that crappy little poorly planned heap of garbage plaza???

just flatten it already. i'm fed up with lousy Ashburn strip malls and the total lack of personality and style that infects every one of them... blech.

I'm still amazed there is no plan to put an overpass at WaxPool and LCP. It takes 3-4 light cycles to get from LCP South to Waxpool. LCP North looks just as bad.

At what time of day? I'd suggest a new commute time :)

If you can get to the unfinished road stubs.. that's a good marker you'll be in 2 cycles. Going through there at 8:15-9:15 is just a really bad time on Waxpool. Even moving just 20+minutes earlier makes a world of difference

But then you wait longer at the Pacific and Waxpool light.

depending on your kid's school schedule, 20 minutes earlier isn't always an option. but during the summer, i DO tend to leave earlier and it IS faster to get out at 8am than it is at 8:15...

So, I don't see an answer to the OP. Anyone know what the sign is about?

I checked the VDOT and Loudoun county websites but couldn't find anything. The County website isn't easy to find stuff like that on...

We need a volunteer to go over there and stand in the median and read the sign. Maybe even take pictures and post them here

    Anyone care to volunteer?

I saw them yesterday (partly) and from what I saw, there was one of those standard workplace rights posters... like the ones that you see in the kitchen at work. And some of the pieces of paper seemed like copies of notices and form letters... nothing special.
