I'm considering switching from Nextel to the Verizon Treo 700w. I appreciate any feedback and things to consider.

I need the ability to review docs and email - wifi/broadband access while around town will be a plus

I was thinking of waiting for the Moto Q but the Treo looks like it will have a little larger screen.

Does the 700w happen to be able to sync with an MAC via bluetooth?

I've heard that Treos are especially prone to gravtity induced hardware failures. One company I know switched out all their Treos for blackberries because anytime anybody dropped a treo it has to be replaced.

Not sure about the Treo switch to MSFT, but my 650 has been great. I have dropped it a few times, and the only problem I can say I have with it is the jack for a wired headset is flaky. I solved that problem with a bluetooth headset, but I don't think the jack was damaged from dropping.

As for synchronizing, the 650 is basically a Palm device with a phone, as I am sure the 700 is a WinCE device with a phone. Basically, anything that can sync with either of these devices will work.

Another "feature" that the 650 has is it acts as a modem for those times when your stuck in an area with good cell coverage but non-existent WiFi. I would check with your provider to make sure that they have that feature enabled. Sprint disabled it for the longest time since they thought they could force people to buy their cell modems.

what about the t-mobile MDA? I've got the SDA coming and loved the predecessor SMT5600... used it for GPS alot. SDA is $50 AR and MDA is $199 AT at amazon. Gotta love that outlook syncing!

*updatE* err axe the MDA suggestion... seems it isn't getting very good reviews compared to the SDA.
